Kautilya
About Me
Hi! I’m Kautilya Pandit, a Physics student at Balliol College, University of Oxford, and I’m excited to support students aiming for top UK universities. Coming from an international background myself, I understand how challenging Oxbridge and UK admissions can feel — yet I successfully secured offers from all five universities I applied to, including Oxford, Imperial, UCL, Bristol, and Edinburgh. I also earned scholarships along the way, and achieved a 92/100 in the PAT, placing me in the top percentile of applicants.
I’ve mentored many students back in India and abroad, helping them navigate every stage of the admissions process: choosing colleges, perfecting personal statements, preparing for admissions tests, and most importantly, excelling in interviews. Oxbridge interviews and academic problem-solving are my forte — I specialise in teaching students how to think aloud, structure solutions, and engage confidently with unfamiliar material.
Whether you need PAT preparation, Oxbridge interview coaching, or overall Oxbridge mentoring, I can guide you through the entire journey with clarity, strategy, and insider insight. My goal is to make the process not only successful, but enjoyable, empowering, and personalised to you.
My teaching style
My teaching style is highly interactive and reflective of the Oxbridge tutorial system. I guide students by asking thoughtful questions, encouraging them to think aloud, and helping them build strong conceptual understanding rather than relying on memorisation. I adapt to each student’s pace — whether fast or slow — and make sure they truly grasp the underlying ideas. My focus is on developing analytical thinking, clear reasoning, and problem-solving skills, the very qualities Oxbridge tutors look for in successful applicants. Through this approach, students become more confident, independent, and well-prepared for competitive admissions.
My past experience
Yes, I have solid experience in teaching and tutoring. During my final years of schooling, I spent two years tutoring junior students in maths and physics, helping them strengthen their fundamentals and prepare for competitive exams. Since coming to Oxford, I’ve continued to mentor and guide students both in the UK and India. I am currently supporting tens of students with their Oxford Physics interview preparation, offering structured guidance, mock interviews, and personalised feedback. My experience spans one-to-one tutoring, group mentoring, and admissions coaching, giving me a strong understanding of how to teach effectively and support students at different levels.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements is earning a place at Oxford as an international student and receiving offers from all the universities I applied to, along with scholarships. I’m also proud of contributing to Team India’s success in the International Young Physicists’ Tournament, as well as competing in national-level Physics and Astronomy Olympiads. In addition, I have completed research projects in Condensed Matter Physics and Quantum Mechanics, which have deepened my academic interests and strengthened my problem-solving skills.
