Tilly
About Me
Hi my name is Tilly and I am currently in my second year of studying an Animal Science and Conservation degree online. I was tutored during my ALevels by Study Mind and had such a positive experience. Not only was I able to achieve my grades AAB in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry, but I also developed a friendship with my tutor who helped put my mind at ease at such a stressful time and now I want to do the same for others.
Outside of uni, I am an avid rider, and have a strong interest in nutrition. Ive volunteered at a rescue centre for a few years which helped me build strong interpersonal and communication skills – something I bring to every tutoring session!
As a tutor, I am friendly and really flexible as a result of my degree so I can easily tailor anyone’s schedule. I will always try to adapt to your needs and find the approach that works best for you whilst making studying seem less draining, more confidence-giving and try to make it as fun as I can.
My teaching style
I’ve always been inclined to work smarter not harder and I’d love to share how I managed to get my grades – especially coming from someone who hasn’t always felt ‘naturally academic’
However I don’t have a fixed teaching style, I think its more about what works best for the student – however I am more than happy to guide this.
My past experience
I haven’t had a professional job in tutoring however I used teaching as my main method of revision in school and sixth-form and so I taught the content I needed to remember!
My Proudest Achievements
Going from a D prediction to achieving a B in Alevel chemsitry
Going to Scotland to compete in equestrian vaulting at 10 years old
Receiving 2/4 Vet Med offers even though I decided the path was not for me and realising I could make a bigger impact in the welfare and conservation industry for which I received an unconditional offer to study.
