TOK Tutors : 1-1 TOK Lessons

I have been working as a professional tutor for nearly seven years. I graduated with a degree in HSPS from the University of Cambridge, and have been teaching a variety of humanities and English subjects ever since. I tutor English Language and Literature GCSE, Sociology A Level, Oxbridge admissions, as well as many other related-courses. Since 2020, I have adapted my work to a heavily online-based approach, though am available in person, particularly for summer school and teaching camps. Online, I utilise screensharing, PDF annotation, interactive whiteboards, shareable textbooks, past papers, and many other learning materials and worksheets that I have accumulated over the years, and in many cases technology that I have invested into, in order to make online tuition particularly engaging.

I am a dedicated medical student currently in my junior year at The University of Manchester, with a strong passion for education and supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Through my experience as a medical student intern and entrepreneur in tutoring and admissions guidance, I have developed a compassionate, insightful approach to fostering learning and well-being in diverse learners. Hi! My name is Alice and I have just finished a four year history degree at Durham University, including a year spent studying at Sciences Po in Paris. In September I will continue my studies at law school in London. I have been doing GCSE and IB tutoring for four years, and I help students in History, Geography and English, as well as the IB extended essay, Theory of Knowledge (TOK), university applications and lots more! I have a lot of experience of helping multiple students through intense exam preparation, coursework, and general content and improving essay writing techniques. I completed my IB in 2021 and achieved the maximum score of 45, including 7s in all of my subjects and 3 core points. I also have 10 GCSE’s grades 9-6, which includes grade 9s in English Language, History and Physical Education. Hello! I’m Ismaeel Ahmad Ayoob Syed, a fourth-year medical student at King’s College London with a deep passion for teaching and mentoring aspiring medical students. With a score of 3000 on the UCAT and a history of academic excellence, including a 43/45 in the IB and 8A* in IGCSEs, I bring both personal achievement and practical experience to my tutoring sessions.

During my time in school, I founded a club specifically designed to guide students through the medical school application process. This involved everything from UCAT preparation to interview practice, personal statement reviews, and in-depth research on different medical schools and their unique teaching styles. I conducted 1:1 sessions with students to analyze their strengths and weaknesses, creating individualized learning plans that helped them maximize their potential. My hands-on approach has been instrumental in helping many students gain a clearer understanding of the rigorous process of applying to medical school.
