I am an enthusiastic and dedicated tutor currently in my final year studying Law at the University of Oxford, where I consistently rank at the top of my cohort. My academic journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of various subjects, and I have honed my tutoring skills across English, Mathematics, and A-Level Humanities, including Philosophy, Politics, Sociology, Criminology, and Religion.

I have graduated from the University of Oxford with a 2.1 in Philosophy and Theology. Prior to attending Oxford, I achieved A*A*A* in English Literature, Latin and Religious Studies, with 5 A*S, 4 Grade 9s and a Grade 8 in GCSEs.

For the past few years, I have been a private tutor which has also entailed mentoring young students and seeing them progress and achieving their dream spots at their universities. This has enabled me to build client relationships and to handle multiple concurrent tasks, since I balanced tutoring with my ability to thrive in Oxford’s rigorous academic environment. I also believe that I work well under time constraints and to meet deadlines, which is an ability that my time at Oxford has prepared me well for.

Hi, my name is Piraveen and I’m currently studying at Queen Mary’s after graduating from St George’s University of London. If you need any help with your studies in terms of Medicine or just the sciences I would be happy to help and get you the best results possible. I have attended QE Grammar School since Year 7 which is a very selective school and it pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of. I will do my best to ensure that students achieve the best they can and to go beyond the scope of what I’m teaching as well if necessary. I will ensure that you will not only improve definitely at what I am teaching you but that you will do the best that you can. I have scored highly on my BMAT, UCAT and my GCSE’s, AS and A Levels so I know how hard it can be to attain high results and what it takes. I have been working as a professional tutor for nearly seven years. I graduated with a degree in HSPS from the University of Cambridge, and have been teaching a variety of humanities and English subjects ever since. I tutor English Language and Literature GCSE, Sociology A Level, Oxbridge admissions, as well as many other related-courses. Since 2020, I have adapted my work to a heavily online-based approach, though am available in person, particularly for summer school and teaching camps. Online, I utilise screensharing, PDF annotation, interactive whiteboards, shareable textbooks, past papers, and many other learning materials and worksheets that I have accumulated over the years, and in many cases technology that I have invested into, in order to make online tuition particularly engaging.

At A-level I studied Biology (A*), Chemistry (A) and English Literature (A*).

At GCSE, the main subjects I studied were: Maths (8), English Literature (9), English Language (9), Biology (9), Physics (9) and Chemistry (8)

The academic demands of applying to medicine are high, and as such, I had to develop a strong work ethic and revision/exam techniques, which I am more than happy to pass on in our sessions.

I used tutors throughout secondary school, mainly for help with Biology, Chemistry and English. I found the help of my tutors invaluable; without it, I don’t think I would have achieved the same grades or even gotten into medical school!

I also think that the interview preparation course that I attended was crucial to me receiving offers from Medical schools. This allowed me to face my fears by stimulating the interview environment so boosted my confidence for the real ones. I also think the feedback I received was so useful to reflect on and analyse in order to improve my performance. I therefore would really like to help others in the same position!
