Hello, I’m Vaneeza, and I’m excited to help your child excel in English, Law, History, Philosophy, or Spanish from GCSE to A-Level. I am a finalist studying Law at Cambridge and achieved 3 A*s at A-Level, so I know firsthand what it takes to succeed in these subjects. I hope to make essay-based subjects more engaging, by drawing on broader questions and honing in on what makes excellent analysis.
Coming from a state school and being the first generation at university, I understand the challenges students face when working towards their futures and how to overcome them. My track record of helping students achieve remarkable success speaks to the effectiveness of my methods. I believe that fostering the right mindset is key to academic success, so by creating a positive and encouraging environment, I help students build confidence and develop a genuine love for thinking critically and showing that passion in their essays. When I’m not studying myself, I am usually at the gym or sewing away!
Hello 🙂 My name is Dr Howells, I have achieved several university degrees, and hold a PhD in Neurophysiology. I was an Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town, and now hold an Honorary Professorship with my alma mater, with my return to the UK. I returned to the UK to support an ageing parent, and this geographical change also permitted me to move out of academia into consulting, which I enjoy. But I have missed teaching, supporting student progress, and seeing them achieve their academic goals! This led me to serving as a supply teacher for a local secondary school, which I do enjoy, and has led me to taking up online tutoring roles.
I have always loved nature in all of its forms and always remain curious. This drove my undergraduate degree towards human physiology and psychology, which I completed through a remote university. My first degree led to opening the floodgates of wanting to seek more, and went on to complete a BSc(Med)Hons degree in Physiology, then registered for an MSc which was upgraded due to progress made, and completed my PhD. My PhD led to the production of 5 peer-reviewed publications. I then went on to complete 4 years postdoctoral research and climbed the academic ranks to Associate Professor.

Hello! I’m thrilled to introduce myself as a dedicated tutor with a unique background in both mathematics and counselling. I graduated from the University of Warwick, where I studied Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, and Economics (MORSE). My journey through academia has fueled my passion for mathematics, and I am now eager to share my love for the subject with students who seek to not only improve their skills but also discover the joy that math can bring.
My time at Warwick was a formative period that solidified my commitment to the world of mathematics. The MORSE program gave me a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of mathematical principles and their real-world applications. I was privileged to delve deeply into statistics, economics, and operational research, where mathematics goes beyond theory to solve complex, practical problems. I learned to see mathematics not as an isolated subject, but as a versatile tool that informs many other fields.
During my studies, I discovered that mathematics is far more than numbers, equations, or abstract concepts. For me, it became a way of thinking—a systematic approach to tackling challenges and developing solutions. This realization is something I aim to share with my students. I hope to inspire them to see math not just as a subject to pass but as a skill that opens doors and ignites curiosity.
Hello I am Jaya, a 4th year medical student at the University of Edinburgh. I applied to Oxford, Edinburgh, St Andrews and Aberdeen medical schools, and received offers from the latter three. I understand that applying to medicine can be a stressful time and complicated to navigate. As your mentor, I will be there to support you throughout the process, and help you develop and showcase your skills most effectively.
I am a friendly and hard-working individual with great organisational and leadership skills. My teaching experiences include one-on-one mentoring and school-visits, where I have created teaching materials and taught on admissions tests, interviews, personal statements, strategic applying and university preparation. I have been helping medical school applicants for the last four years through which I have gained a good understanding of the expectations of medical school admissions and ways in which applicants can stand out from the crowd.
My passion for teaching is reflected in work I do at university. I am the Events Coordinator for Edinburgh University Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery, an Anatomy Tutorials Coordinator for Accessibility in Medicine, and I am on the committee for the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin Young Doctors and Medical Students Forum. I am a student ambassador for SimPat and also pursuing an Undergraduate Certificate in Medical Education at the University of Edinburgh. I have organised and hosted career insight events, podcasts and conferences primarily with a focus on cardiology. I am involved in neuroscientific research and I am currently working towards publishing a paper on the development of an online living evidence summary tool to help the scientific community in carrying out systematic reviews of research.
I hope to work with you soon!

Hi! I’m a final year Dental student at the University of Manchester 🙂 I’ve had lots of experience in tutoring students and prospective students one on one, reviewing personal statements (even if they’re for different courses or courses that are slightly related – e.g. Medicine!), and I’ve provided a lot of Q&A sessions for how I got into Uni and how I got 4/4 of my offers.
I received offers from King’s College London, Queen Mary College, Cardiff University, and the University of Manchester. I come from a socioeconomically deprived area, so I understand how it feels to be in competition for a University spot against others with better luck of the draw. I also have ADHD so I know how it feels to be a neurodivergent student and require slightly different styles and modes of teaching and concentration.
I love working with people and helping them – it’s part of why I want to go into Dentistry! I’d love for a chance to tutor even more people and make sure they’re receiving the best quality education and top personal tips for getting into Uni. Since I’ve worked as a Student Ambassador at UoM, I’ve also received “inside info” on how to ace your interview, and going through so many interviews myself as both the interviewee and the interviewer has given me a lot of experience so I can share all my knowledge with you!
