GDL Tutors : 1-1 GDL Lessons

I’m Amba, an award-winning law tutor, legal consultant and mum to a 13-year-old. I have nearly 20 years’ experience in legal practice and have worked across several areas of law, including family law, private client, employment, civil litigation and conveyancing. I now work as a consultant and run a family law department, which means I bring real legal practice into my teaching rather than relying only on textbook examples.

Alongside practice, I have been tutoring law students online for 7 years and have supported over 1,500 students across A-Level Law, CILEX, LLB, LLM, LPC, GDL, SQE and other legal courses. In 2026, I won the Post-16 Tutor Award, judged by an independent panel, which recognised the quality of my teaching and support.

I also teach internationally, with many students based in the MENA region, and I understand the challenges faced by students studying English law from overseas. I am SEN-friendly and have both professional and lived experience of neurodiversity, including ADHD and parenting an SEN child. My approach is supportive, structured, honest and focused on helping students build confidence, understand the law properly and improve their written work.

I am an experienced tutor with a strong background in science and online teaching. I create personalised, engaging lessons by identifying each student’s strengths, learning style, and areas for improvement. I provide clear instruction, constructive feedback, and track progress closely to ensure success. Beyond science, I also teach English, Maths, and SAT/ACT preparation, helping students achieve top 10% scores. I aim to motivate learners, build confidence, and foster a positive, supportive online environment using effective digital tools and tailored resources.

I deliver high-quality online instruction through video sessions and digital learning platforms, ensuring lessons are interactive and easy to follow. I provide clear, constructive feedback on assignments, projects, and assessments, while closely monitoring student progress to track improvement over time.

I am an award winning tutor, who has twice won Tutor of the Year awards from the Tutor’s Association, with 20 years teaching/tutoring experience both inside and outside the classroom. I have QTS and have worked as both an examiner and a marker for AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR, and WJEC exam boards.
I have extensive experience tutoring a variety of levels including: Common Entrance, 11+, 13+. International Baccalaureate GCSE’s, A-Level, Undergraduate , and Postgraduate.
I have worked with students for entrance exams and through the interview process various top schools and colleges including Westminster School, Eton, Harrow, City of London School, Dulwich College and Lady Margaret.
I have specific qualifications in Educational Psychology, online teaching, and SEN /EGS teaching.
I am a double BA holder and Masters (Distinction) holder.
