Hi there, my name is Hammad. I’m a Final year medic at Hull York Medical School (HYMS). I came across this opportunity from Medic Mind to get into teaching, something very much needed as a surgeon or doctor in general.
Due to being a high performer throughout my science subjects from highschool right through to university, I have taught a lot of my peers informally during class or outside of it. I feel I have a rather unique teaching style, using analogies and getting students to explain what they’ve learned or know already back to me, essentially incorporating my learning style (The Feynman Technique) into how I teach. My name is Silas and I am a newly qualified Resident Doctor following the completion of my Medical Degree at the University of Sheffield. I graduated with honours and received the Mark Gregory Baker as the top student in my year.

Prior to studying Medicine, I gained a First Class Degree in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Birmingham; my degree allowed me to apply to Undergraduate Medicine as a graduate. I can offer a unique perspective for students looking for alternate routes into Medicine and on the importance placed on varied interests by Medical Schools across the country.

As a Sheffield Medical student, I am the President of the Sheffield Emergency Medicine Society and am a member of medical societies such as Sheffield Friends of MSF and Wilderness Medicine. I am also a Community First Responder which involves responding to emergencies in the area with lifesaving equipment before the ambulance arrives. My specific areas of interest within Medicine are: Emergency Medicine, Wilderness Medicine, Pre-Hospital Medicine, Humanitarian Medicine, and Disaster Medicine.

In terms of the city of Sheffield, I was born and raised here therefore I feel that I can answer any questions that students have about the city, the lifestyle, and the surrounding area which I know is a point of emphasis from Sheffield during the interview process.

Hi! My name is Lavanya and I’m a fourth year Dental Surgery student at University of Leeds. Having had experience with online tutoring during my dental application process, I can appreciate how beneficial it can be to have someone there to answer any questions or worries.
