About Me

Hi, I’m Grace – a fourth-year dental student at Cardiff University and a premium tutor on this platform. With over seven years of tutoring experience, I teach a wide range of subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, French, 11+, UCAT and Dentistry Interviews. My sessions are designed to be interactive and engaging, with a strong focus on active recall and building genuine understanding, rather than surface-level memorisation. Every lesson is tailored to your individual needs, supported with detailed feedback and a variety of high-quality learning resources to help you progress efficiently and confidently.

My tutoring journey began by supporting children from low socioeconomic backgrounds with GCSE Maths and 11+ preparation. This early experience gave me a real insight into the academic and confidence-related challenges many students face, and it shaped the supportive, patient and motivating teaching style I use today.

Alongside my clinical training in dentistry, I’ve developed a genuine passion for education and mentoring, and in the future I hope to pursue a career in dental education as a university lecturer. This long-term goal means I place real value on explaining concepts clearly, breaking down complex topics into manageable steps, and helping students build the confidence and independence they need to succeed. I believe in a collaborative approach – working with you to build confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve your goals.

My teaching style

I don’t believe in simply lecturing students – my sessions are interactive and student-centred. Through active recall, guided questioning, and collaborative problem-solving, I encourage students to engage deeply with the material and build long-term understanding rather than short-term memorisation.

Confidence is central to academic progress, so I take time to work through questions step-by-step, making sure concepts are fully understood before moving on. After each session, I provide clear, constructive feedback alongside tailored resources to consolidate learning. I’m also available for support between sessions, so students always feel guided, supported, and motivated throughout their learning journey.

My past experience

Over the past seven years, I’ve supported students preparing for 11+, GCSE and A-Level exams across Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and French. I also have a strong track record of helping applicants succeed in Dentistry Interviews and UCAT preparation.

I’ve worked with learners of all abilities – from those building foundational confidence to high-achievers aiming for top grades – and I’m proud of the consistent progress and outcomes my students achieve. My aim is always to empower students not only to reach their academic goals, but to develop confidence, resilience, and motivation throughout their learning journey.

My Proudest Achievements

One of my proudest achievements is placing 3rd in the Irish Dancing World Championships, which taught me a lot about long-term commitment, coping with pressure, and staying resilient when progress feels slow.

Alongside this, achieving the highest GCSE results in my year across subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Biology, French and Computing reflected the importance of consistent effort and good organisation.

I’m also proud to have completed several half marathons, as running has helped me build discipline, perseverance, and a healthy mindset towards challenges.

Grace was an amazing UCAT tutor that helped me with VR, DM and SJT and she helped me go from a score of 2490 Band 3 in 2024 (Old scoring) to 2010 Band 1 in 2025, she explained everything in great detail and helped me identify my weaknesses which she helped me improve on in the exam, I am truly grateful for all of her help and I would definitely recommend her as a tutor!
