Hi – I’m Rituraj, I recently graduated from a Masters in Maths and Philosophy at Oxford – and I obtained a first class degree. I achieved 5 A* at A-level and 11 9s at GCSE.

I have four years of tutoring experience – focusing on mathematics, philosophy and science tutoring for Oxbridge admissions/Olympiad/A-Levels/GCSEs/school admissions. This includes extracurricular mathematics, working through the syllabus, and interview prep.

I am interested in being a tutor because I am passionate about spreading my love of academia, and sparking an interest in the topics I myself am interested in. Having had previous experience in education, in both one-to-one personal tutoring and teaching in a structured class environment, I am certain this is my career path of choice, and this would be the perfect opportunity to further my career goals. I have taught at Akshar Foundation, an Indian Teaching NGO, for underprivileged students, to A-Level Standard, and WILS Language School, a Korean Hagwon, for Oxbridge entry, having taught A-Level Maths/English/Physics and further computational courses.

My name is Ashish Pathak, and I am a passionate mathematics educator, data enthusiast, and lifelong learner with over 7 years of experience in the education and ed-tech industry. Throughout my career, I have committed myself to making mathematics accessible, engaging, and meaningful for students across various academic levels. From teaching in traditional classrooms to adapting to the dynamic world of online education, my journey has been shaped by the belief that strong mathematical foundations empower students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and develop a lifelong appreciation for logical reasoning.

My academic background and professional experience are deeply rooted in mathematics and data science. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Data Science from IIIT Bangalore, which complements my analytical mindset and adds a technological edge to my teaching and content development approach. Over the years, I have worked with some of the most respected names in the Indian ed-tech space, including Akash Byju’s, Vedantu, and Turing (for Meta’s project). My responsibilities have ranged from classroom instruction and one-on-one mentorship to content creation, curriculum design, and performance analytics. At Vedantu, I was part of a dynamic online teaching model that demanded innovation, engagement, and precision in delivery. I consistently received positive feedback for my ability to break down abstract mathematical concepts into digestible, student-friendly explanations.

At Akash Byju’s, I led academic initiatives and collaborated with cross-functional teams to improve the effectiveness of math instruction. I was responsible for not just teaching, but also identifying learning gaps through data analysis and recommending interventions for student improvement. This is where my data science background truly added value. I designed dashboards to monitor student performance, analyzed trends in learning outcomes, and contributed insights that helped shape future content strategies.

In my most recent engagement with Turing on a project for Meta, I explored how models learn to solve problems, sharpening my analytical thinking and deepening my appreciation for the intersection of machine learning and education. This experience not only broadened my understanding of AI but also reinforced the importance of foundational math skills in today’s digital landscape.

Beyond formal employment, I’ve also dedicated time to building my personal brand in the education space. I run a YouTube channel called “Math Whizz”, where I break down mathematical concepts, puzzles, and functional equations for students preparing for competitive exams. My goal is to eliminate fear and confusion surrounding math, especially for students who feel left behind in conventional learning environments. The channel has become a space where students can interact, ask questions, and learn at their own pace.

In addition to teaching, I have a strong flair for academic writing and content development. I’ve contributed to textbooks, mock test papers, and online course modules designed to help students excel in competitive exams like JEE, NTSE, and Olympiads. My content is known for being concise, logically structured, and tailored to the learning psychology of students. I believe in writing not just to inform but to inspire curiosity and confidence.

As someone who started as a traditional teacher and evolved into a tech-enabled educator, I understand the challenges and opportunities that modern education presents. I firmly believe in using data and technology to personalize education and create scalable solutions that address diverse learner needs. Whether it’s through interactive videos, adaptive quizzes, or predictive analytics, I’m always exploring new ways to improve student learning outcomes.

What truly sets me apart is my ability to bridge the gap between academic rigor and student engagement. I don’t just teach math—I teach students how to think mathematically. I encourage them to question, to explore multiple paths to a solution, and to see failure as a step toward understanding. My classes are interactive, filled with real-life applications, visual aids, and a touch of humor to keep students motivated.

Whether through authorship, curriculum design, or advanced data-driven teaching methods, I am excited about using my skills to make a lasting impact.

I have finished my final year of Biology at the University of Bath, and have loved learning over the past couple of years. I would love for others to find their own way to enjoy the art of learning, especially at times such as GCSEs and A-Levels. I know for sure it took me a while to start enjoying it, but once you do you’re in the for the win. I hope through tutoring I can pass this on to others too.
Having had experience in tutoring 11+, having attended HBS myself, as well as having helped others receive offers from various others school, I understand the process, the pressure of the process quite well and hope that I can be a helping hand to those who need it.
