I loved my experience with Study Mind. The tutors were very friendly, and I liked how they tailored the approach to my weaknesses, with regular homework and testing in between the Zoom 1-1 lessons.

I am currently a first year Philosophy and Psychology student at the University of Glasgow, who tutors humanities and social science subjects. I am interested in reading and immersing myself in historical and political knowledge and want to reproduce this interest for others and the excitement that I get from this. In the future I hope to work in a climate of which I can merge my academic interests of philosophy and brain science with my interest in historical politics. As for now I tutor so I can begin a basis for this, that being allowing others to understand knowledge in a way that is enjoyable and capturing for them which I believe makes one appreciate knowledge and information more. Henceforth if your mindset aligns with this thought process or you would like to then I would be the right person for you.
Hello! I’m excited to introduce myself and share my passion for supporting students on their educational journeys. My name is Maisie and I am a 25 year old medical student, studying in Swansea, all the way from Melbourne, Australia. I moved from Australia two years ago to pursue my dream in becoming a doctor. I have a degree in Biomedical Science and, before moving to the UK, worked as a research assistant at the Royal Children’s Hospital in kids’ allergy research.
My goal is to help a range of students, particularly young kids and teens, whether that’s through mentoring, organising their studies, or assisting with specific subjects. I have experience in private tutoring for all subjects in primary school, and a harboured interest in English, English lanugage and Sociology for highschoolers.
In addition to this, for University students, I tutor in Section 2 in the GAMSAT. I’m also dedicated to guiding students through important milestones, such as applying for medical school, and interview preparation for Medicine – something I wish I had whilst going through this daunting process.
With extensive experience in nannying and caring for young children, I’ve developed a strong understanding of their needs and challenges. My interest in paediatrics as a medical specialty further fuels my desire to make a positive impact in their lives. I believe that every child deserves the support they need to thrive, and I am committed to being the right fit for your child (or you!).
I read a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at The University of Birmingham, graduating in 2005, which truly opened up my mind to life long learning! After my first degree, I worked as a research assistant for a consultancy, followed by becoming a teaching assistant in SEND schools in Birmingham. After which, I decided to take a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) in 2009 at The University of Warwick. I have been working in education ever since, across a wide variety of settings: ESOL teaching in Thailand and online, a primary school teacher in Honduras, a SEND KS3/KS4 teacher in the UK. I currently teach GCSE and A level Sociology to students in the UK. I have also had a lot of experience delivering English language, English literature, PSHE, citizenship geography lessons and KS1 and KS2 English, maths and science.
I love to get to know my students and focus on connection, self esteem, confidence and personalised classes.
