Economics Tutors : 1-1 Economics Preparation

Hi, I’m Mamta, a first year medical student at the University of Birmingham.
I’m very passionate about teaching and have been tutoring for more three years, helping with personalised exam preparation and revision techniques based on first hand experience as well as supporting younger students with key skills.

I achieved 3A*s as well as 10 Grade 9s in my GCSEs, so I feel that I am able to draw upon my own experience to help students with the content covered as well as key revision tips. This includes creating a revision plan from the very beginning so that when it comes to exams, these are as stress-free as possible. I also find that frequent reviews of prior topics helps to really ingrain knowledge and means that it is more intuitive to recall or apply when it comes to practice questions.

Hi, I’m Vansh, a third year medical student with a keen interest in tutoring! I have had a difficult journey into Medicine which has made me all the more motivated to help students get into Medicine and succeed. After doing the IB programme, I missed my Medicine Offer and was forced to take an unplanned gap year, resit one of my subjects and reapply to Medicine. However, I was successful in my application, achieving offers from all of my interviews across both application cycles.

Applying to Medicine across 2 application cycles has given me a great insight into how different medical school interviews work, what the interviewers are looking for and how to succeed. As well as this, I have been on MMI panels so sitting on the other side has given me a lot of knowledge and tips about how candidates can present themselves well, be confident and get those all important offers.

Hi 👋 I’m Kara, a History and Politics graduate from Brasenose college, Oxford! I am super passionate about all things History and Politics as well as International Relations, English literature and Economics. I am available to help students with a wide range of challenges, from Economics A-level to achieving full marks in an EPQ. Outside of studying, I enjoy travelling, reading fiction and all types of exercise, especially the gym and I am a firm believer in having a great work life balance. After studying independently for many months during the pandemic and missing GCSEs, I am in a unique position to understand the mental stress placed on high achieving students who have missed large parts of their education; as your tutor I will do everything I can to support you academically and emotionally. Hi! My name is Aleksandra! I came to the UK as an international student five years ago and started studying in the first-ranked school in Britain regarding A-Level results. I enjoyed learning there. In contrast to the usual to me around 10 subjects and boring teachers, I found to entertain myself in lessons with engaging teachers often with dad jokes in the pocket and a very easy program consisting of only four and my favourite subjects. Later I was lucky to get accepted to all universities I applied to and I chose the University of Cambridge. Studying there turned out to be highly challenging but I enjoyed learning something new and coping with different issues. When I started university, I realised I am able to combine my studies with helping other students in achieving what I achieved and I became a tutor. I tutored children in English for a year but soon found out that I would be happier helping students of a greater age than 8-10 and was offered to help students with Oxbridge interviews. That was very interesting for me and I became to dive in into tutoring more and more. I hope one day I can help you too!

Hi! My name is Callum, a second-year undergraduate studying at Brasenose College, University of Oxford. I have tutored for many years now, helping students with admissions tests, personal statements and interview preparation for Oxbridge.

I also tutor A-level and GCSE subjects. This started during my time in sixth form when I was selected by my school to tutor their GCSE students, helping students smash their exams and reach their potential.

Having worked alongside teachers, I am very familiar with exam mark schemes and know what examiners are looking for. I know the pace of teaching can be especially fast in schools, and I believe a very solid foundation is needed before progressing to exam questions – something we can build!

My degree, Economics and Management, balances Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Probability and Statistics with a plethora of management disciplines and finance. Prior to attending Oxford University, I received 3 A* grades at A-level in Maths, Economics and Physics. So, I have developed and demonstrated a thorough understanding of the material I teach.
