Hi I’m Lucie!
I’m a graduate of the University of Cambridge, where I studied Education, English and Drama.
I studied English, French and Theatre Studies at A Level and achieved grades A* A* A.
As my degree choice might suggest, I feel passionate about education and its potential to shape a young person’s life. I was lucky enough to have some amazing teachers during my A Levels. The tricks that they had taught me for my A Level work really stayed with me and helped me tackle my university course. I hope to be able to do the same for you!
My Sixth Form helped me develop strong study skills. Good study skills can save you hours of revision and are essential at university, which requires students to do a lot of independent learning. Studying at Cambridge required me to be extremely organised. I juggled my degree with a load of extracurriculars including student radio, ball committees, theatre productions and improv comedy. Over the three years I learned how to fit all of these commitments in by working smarter, as opposed to harder. Let me know if you would like to accommodate teaching on study skills into your sessions!
I’m now studying for my journalism qualification alongside tutoring so have lots of practise writing snappy sentences and checking spelling and grammar.
Whether it’s personal statement advice, interview prep or help with English A Level I’d love to have a chat with you and see what I can do to help!
Hello! Shwmae! I am Anna, an undergraduate studying Education, Psychology, and Learning at the University of Cambridge. I am from Cardiff (Wales), attended a state school for all of my education prior to University, and applied to this course during my gap year. Throughout high school particularly enjoyed Geography, History, Welsh, and Psychology, though received high grades across the board at GCSE and A Level. The papers I have taken thus far in my course have include aspects of philosophy, linguistics, psychology, history, and statistics – a really broad scope of interesting areas. My interests outside of academia include piano, running, student union support, rowing and coxing, and cycling. I value my own time alongside studying at University, and this is a balance that I implore prospective students to think about before attending any higher education establishment. I would love to support students looking at applying to Oxbridge for Psychology (or PBS) and Education, or for those seeking advice regarding interviews generally. Looking forward to meeting you!
Hi my name is Esha!
I am currently an MSc Health Psychology student at Sheffield Hallam University. I graduated at Newcastle University this summer with 2:1 Psychology BSc degree.
I have studied Psychology, Sociology and Biology A-Levels and 10 GCSEs. I am tutoring in A-Level Sociology and A-Level Psychology. I am passionate about sharing knowledge and committed to providing tailored tutoring to each of my students to suit their needs.
I am also an avid volunteer for young people, working to get their voices heard and needs met. I have specialised in mental health and currently am volunteering to mentor young people. I have worked with and have personal experience of young people with Autism, ADHD and understand the individual differences a young person make have.
I believe it is important to listen to my students and tailor to them, ensuring they have a safe space where they can learn and grow, without feeling afraid to make mistakes.
Hey! I’m Holly, twenty years old and I use she/they pronouns. It’s always been my dream to attend the University of Oxford and to excel in my A-Levels, despite attending a school from an underrepresented and disadvantaged area. There should be no reason why anyone should miss out on the opportunity to reach their full potential, and I want to provide others with the resources they need to do this, if they can’t access them elsewhere.
More than just being a mentor, I would love to be a friend: someone who can support my mentees and reassure them that just because they’re struggling with a subject, absolutely doesn’t mean it’s out of reach. I want to reduce the awkwardness and anxiety that can come alongside talking to someone new, and allow them to trust me enough to ask questions and request help without embarrassment or fear of judgement. I’m flexible and will do my absolute best to accommodate any of my mentees’ needs, whether they’re to do with accessibility, wellbeing, content or anything else.
