Having attended a state school (and attaining the best GCSE grades: https://www.nhsg.org.uk/latestnews/gcse-results-a-birthday-to-remember), I understand the endless hard work and effort that goes into oxbridge applications and education in general. No student should be disadvantaged and I’d love to make their lives easier by passing on my experiences and success with getting into the top universities (Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, KCL). Although a massive part of it is luck, hard work can get you anywhhere; it’s just about knowing where to put in the hard work to achieve the best results! Personal statements, ENGAA, and interviews can be exhausting if they aren’t handled in the right way, without appropriate guidance but as an engineer, solving problems efficiently is at the heart of what I do so I hope that can be applied to giving you the best chance possible of achieving your dreams 🙂

My aim is to help you reach any academic goals you have, while also helping you enjoy learning your subject along the way. GCSEs, A-levels and the Oxbridge PAT/ Interview pathway have helped me gather many tips, tricks and resources which I would like to share with you throughout our lessons, many of which I wish I knew before starting my exams.
Whether it is the whole syllabus or just some harder topics, I am here to help you achieve the best results you can. I have enjoyed teaching a range of subjects from Sport to Physics to ages of 8 to 18, and have learnt many different ways to engage students. This means I will be flexible in my teaching methods to make lessons exciting and engaging for you. I am also always up for explaining the challenging and difficult concepts which can come up in Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Engineering in fun and different ways. Hi! My name is Minhaj and I love tutoring. I am a recent graduate from the University of Cambridge with a master’s degree in engineering. I have quite a lot of experience when it comes to tutoring and mentoring students of all age groups in mainly STEM subjects. I have achieved 11A*s at GCSE and 4 A*s at A Level (in maths, further maths, physics and chemistry) so you can be confident in having me as your tutor for explaining even the most difficult content and helping you prepare well for exams!

My main academic interests lie within STEM areas, primarily maths and physics. This is why I chose to pursue engineering at university since it embodies both of these subjects with real-life applicable contexts. I did many super curricular activities throughout my academy journey including UKMT maths challenges (achieved GOLD twice) and attending the Isaac Physics Summer School at the University of Cambridge in Corpus Christi College (only 40 students were invited nationally).

I have experience in tutoring students from primary school all the way to students doing their A Levels (or equivalent). I also have experience in mentoring students for their university applications in STEM subjects including Oxbridge applicants. My primary area of focus for mentoring university applicants would be engineering applicants for Oxbridge & Imperial. But I am also looking to mentor students in other STEM areas such as physics, maths & computer science since the interviews and admissions test preparation often takes a similar journey. I am familiar with all the major UK STEM admissions test including the ESAT, ENGAA, NSAA, MAT, PAT and TMUA (I practised with these myself for my admissions test) so I would be willing to help students prepare for these. I currently mentor and tutor many students for STEM applications to top universities including Oxbridge and Imperial College London. I help students with all aspects of their application including helping with writing personal statements and preparing for admissions tests as well as interviews.

I am a First-Class Engineering Science graduate from the University of Oxford, graduating in the top 10% of my year. Whilst studying mathematics, further mathematics, and physics at A-Levels, I achieved A*A*A*, achieving the highest mark in my sixth form across all three A-Levels whilst participating in extracurricular activities such as football, amateur rocketry and brass band.

I teach mathematics, further mathematics, physics, and engineering to students aged 11 through to University level. I also tutor students with the PAT entrance exam as well as conduct mock Oxbridge engineering interviews.

From GCSE through to University, I have focused on developing a deep understanding of my subjects to reduce dependence on memorisation during examinations. This helped me dramatically cut down the amount of time I needed to sink in to revision without compromising the quality of my revision, and allowed me to invest a lot of time into extracurricular activities. Having graduated, I am now investing time in sharing the skills I developed through school and University to help future students succeed.
