Hi! My name is Anna, I’ve just finished my first year of medicine at Peninsula Medical school (Plymouth). About me academically: I applied to Exeter, Plymouth, Liverpool and Cardiff in my A level year for a deferred entry, receiving interviews from 3 of these, and an offer from Plymouth. I took the UCAT in the summer of year 12, getting a score of 2800 (in the upper 8th percentile of candidates for that year). During my A levels, I took biology, chemistry and maths, getting A*AA respectively. Me outside of academics (the most important!): I am a keen hockey player and musician, balancing these alongside my medical school application and now medical school itself, and I really advocate for being able to continue these things throughout, it’s really important to have something you enjoy at the same time (and great for your PS!) So far at university, I have passed every exam within the top half of my year group, and I have found some really effective study techniques that work for me and also a lot of my friends, so if you ever have any questions about life after starting university, I am always hear to help! I really hope you will consider me!

Hello! I’m Ameerah, a 2nd year medical student at Bristol. I have always been passionate about science and medicine, and was delighted when I achieved my dream of starting medical school! I sat the UCAT in August 2022 and scored 3080, a score in the top 3% of the country, with scores in the 790-810 range in Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Decision Making. I also sat the BMAT and received a top 10% score in Section 1. I received interview offers from all four of my unis and received offers from Manchester, Bristol and BSMS. I took Biology, Chemistry, French and Spanish at A Level and achieved A*A*A*A.

I chose to tutor with Medic Mind as I understand how difficult A Levels and gaining a medical school place can be. I want to offer students the support they need and to show them that they are more than capable of succeeding.

Outside of academics, I am passionate about writing, embroidering and gardening.

Hi there! My name is Sophie and I’m a third year medical student at the University of Bristol. I did my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths and sat the UCAT, gaining a score in the top 1% of applicants. I was interviewed by all 4 universities I applied to and achieved 3 offers from Bristol, Southampton and Sheffield. I’m always happy to have a chat about anything to do with the application process, life at medical school or anything else that you might be interested in!
In my most recent exams at medical school, I was awarded a certificate for my performance. I achieved A*s in both Biology and Physics at A-level, and was only one mark off an A* in Maths and got an A in Chemistry. In my GCSEs, I achieved grade 9s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geography, as well as an A in the FSMQ.
I absolutely love teaching people and watching them develop confidence in their skills. I completely understand the anxieties that come with studying for A-levels and applying for medicine, and am happy to give my tips for surviving the process.
Since starting university, I’ve begun taking salsa classes, as well as volunteering with several groups.

Hello! My name is Emily and I am a recent graduate of the University of Oxford, where I read Geography and was awarded an academic scholarship. I am currently studying for a law conversion and will shortly commence a training contract at a magic circle law firm.

I began offering tuition shortly after I completed my A-level studies at Godolphin &
Latymer, where I achieved A*s in Mathematics, Geography, French, Spanish and in an EPQ. Since then I have gained experience supporting primary students working towards 11+ and Common Entrance exams, worked with students preparing for their GCSE and A-level exams, including revision and consolidation work throughout the year as well as exam paper practice and final preparation, and helping students with university applications and transfer work.

I am passionate about learning and love the direct impact 1-to-1 tuition allows me to have on
my students and their own learning journey. I take a keen interest in prompting students’ own independent learning and ensuring their progress with me. My lively, energetic and fun approach helps my students stay engaged and make my sessions memorable.
