Journalism Tutors : 1-1 Journalism Lessons

I have graduated from the University of Oxford with a 2.1 in Philosophy and Theology. Prior to attending Oxford, I achieved A*A*A* in English Literature, Latin and Religious Studies, with 5 A*S, 4 Grade 9s and a Grade 8 in GCSEs.

For the past few years, I have been a private tutor which has also entailed mentoring young students and seeing them progress and achieving their dream spots at their universities. This has enabled me to build client relationships and to handle multiple concurrent tasks, since I balanced tutoring with my ability to thrive in Oxford’s rigorous academic environment. I also believe that I work well under time constraints and to meet deadlines, which is an ability that my time at Oxford has prepared me well for.

I am well-placed to provide tuition at 11 and 13+, as well as English Language, English Literature and RE GCSE, A-Level and degree-level tuition. I am also up-to-date on examination syllabi and the requirements needed for achieving top marks.

I have tutoring experience in GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, GCSE Religious Studies and Oxbridge Classics admissions. I also mentor students in application for Oxbridge Classics, as I changed degrees in my third year, and assisted a student in her successful entrance to Oxford for Classics via personal statement, interview/test advice and general information about the course and university life. Therefore, I am available to support Oxbridge Classics admissions.

I am a medical student at the University of Leeds. I have had experience supporting students through the medical admission process including the UCAT, personal statement, and the interview process. I have also tutored GCSE science, history as well as KS3 core subjects. I also have experience supporting SEN students. At each stage of my academic journey, I initially struggled but crafted methods to achieve high GCSEs, A -levels and UCAT score. I understand the frustration of struggling academically and so want to help students achieve their potential and aims.

I applied to a broad mix of medical schools and made some mistakes along the way so believe I am in a good position to help younger students avoid these mistakes. Outside of my studies and tutoring, I continue with a range of hobbies including Violin, Piano and assisting the direction of a musical theatre production.

I also achieved 11A*s at GCSE, in Maths, Numeracy, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Religious Studies, History, English Language, English Literature, and Welsh Language. I also received an A in Welsh Baccalaureate, B in Art, and C in Welsh Literature.
Outside of academia, I am passionate about fundraising, netball, and fighting for equality. I currently hold a committee position in Imperial’s Medics Raising and Giving Society, which raises approximately £30,000 annually, as well as chairing the Imperial College LGBTQ+ Society. I also work with Right to Play, feminist movements, and United Hospitals.
