Imaan
About Me
Hi, I’m Imaan. I’m a third year medical student at the University of Plymouth, I know the interview process inside out and I know that it takes A LOT of determination. I have independently achieved all my medical school offers and thats why I know that although it seems impossible, there’s always a way to achieve your dreams and I’m here to help you find it! I have lots of experience coaching students and am easy to talk to. I have had to deal with the daunting experience of applying to medical school, independently, including; taking the UCAT exam twice! This has taught me everything there is to know about the test and I have developed many tips and tricks. I am also a foundation student and this pathway requires a lot of thought and planning, I’d be happy to answer any questions regarding any of the unconventional pathways to medicine. My motto is always being there to help, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask them!
My teaching style
Friendly and student led! Whilst I always have a plan of what I think is best, it is important that the student has a say in what they would like to cover. I believe everyone has enough potential and with a little coaching can reach their ambitions.
My past experience
I have coached students, helping them with writing personal statements and applying to Medicine. I have also tutored students for medical school interviews including, Queen Mary, Sheffield, University of East Anglia, Aberdeen, Liverpool, Leicester and Peninsula medical school. Along with this I teach A-level sciences and English Literature. I have many hours of experience teaching UCAT students alongside this.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements include homeschooling 12 GCSE’s with only textbooks and achieving excellent grades.
The time where I was told by my medical school interviewer that I had given the best answer they’d ever heard!
Starting a society as a fresher and foundation year student to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds- this was not easy but is something close to my heart.
Getting the highest marks out of the cohort in A-level Psychology.
