Hi there! My name is Isabella and I am a masters student studying marine biology at the University of St. Andrews. Having always had an affinity for the ocean, I began working towards my goal of being a marine biologist from an early age. I now specialise in the study of deep-sea corals and their possible future application in pharmaceutical drugs. Having worked in an academic environment as a research assistant I know that my particular field is one that is always evolving, with new research being published every day, keeping the subject fresh and exciting

During my three years of tutoring and classroom teaching I have found that the enthusiasm I bring to learning leads to curiosity, which in turn leads to positive habits of pursing knowledge and challenges the mindset that studying is a chore. I completed an AS Level award in English Literature and A Levels in History, Psychology and Art and Design. I then achieved a 2:1 in BSc Applied Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in 2014. In 2018, I successfully completed a PGCert from the University of Birmingham in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions, and in 2021 I qualified as a teacher of Art and Design.
I am a creative-thinking and motivated individual looking for a new challenge to broaden my horizons. I have previously worked as a psychological talking therapist, and I am also a qualified secondary teacher with extensive experience in schools; which has led me to my current role as an SEN tutor for adolescents who are refusing school attendance. My role is to provide them with the emotional support and encouragement needed to return to school, as well as helping them to learn and revise all curriculum material needed to pass their exams. I relish the opportunity to build positive relationships with others, as this is what motivates me, and I love to see meaningful changes which lead to bright futures; as a result of the work that myself and others have put in. I believe that in order to overcome any challenge, the first step is to identify the barriers to change. This requires the development of trusting relationships with students, as well as their parents and key staff members at their enrolled schools. Once these barriers are identified, we are able to collaboratively come up with a tailored plan to integrate students back into school.

I am a second year Biology student at the University of Oxford excited to share my passion for science with you! I previously studied Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science at A-Level (A*A*A) and I have a particularly keen interest in Biodiversity and Sustainability. Having been through the exams and Oxbridge admissions process myself, I’m here to offer support to other students who want to reach their study goals.

I have tutored 15+ hours and my most recent student received an A* in her A-Level Biology exam, earning her a place at her first choice university.

I have also had recent experience working as a residential summer school teacher at both St Hilda’s and St Peter’s College. Here, I led and taught group classes (30+) of Chinese students across a wide range of subjects. I also organised and delivered tailored tuition to small groups, assisting students’ research projects in Biology/Medicine.

Hi, I’m Fran! I am a postgraduate student at UCL, studying for MSc Science Technology and Society, which I hope to finish in 2024. In 2022, I graduated with a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Materials Science in my final year. I’m super passionate about science, and love science communication and policy-making. In my spare time, I enjoy rock-climbing, reading, board games, and music.
I have been tutoring privately for around 5 years now, and I love it! I enjoy spreading my passion for science and love discussing new and interesting topics and issues in science with my students. I think it’s really important to engage children and young people with science, to encourage the next generation of medics, mathematicians, scientists, and engineers.

I am a passionate and experienced EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Primary School teacher.

I have over nine years experience of working in primary schools across Essex and London. This includes working with SEN children. I have been an English and Reading subject lead.

Currently, I am within the last few months of submitting my PhD thesis and preparing for my Viva Viva.

My thesis focuses on teaching children to read during the Covid-19 pandemic, specifically using pre-recorded video lessons. Reading is a fundamental aspect to success, and should be used as a resource for learning, and for enjoyment.

Outside of teaching, I live an active and healthy lifestyle, where I enjoy running, swimming, walking my two dogs or spending time with my five rescue donkeys!
