Hi there! My name is Isabella and I am a masters student studying marine biology at the University of St. Andrews. Having always had an affinity for the ocean, I began working towards my goal of being a marine biologist from an early age. I now specialise in the study of deep-sea corals and their possible future application in pharmaceutical drugs. Having worked in an academic environment as a research assistant I know that my particular field is one that is always evolving, with new research being published every day, keeping the subject fresh and exciting

During my three years of tutoring and classroom teaching I have found that the enthusiasm I bring to learning leads to curiosity, which in turn leads to positive habits of pursing knowledge and challenges the mindset that studying is a chore. My goals include creating an environment in which the tutee is able to communicate their problem areas with ease and also encouraging self-learning by giving students opportunities to work through problems themselves once familiar with the subject matter.

Hi, I’m Fran! I am a postgraduate student at UCL, studying for MSc Science Technology and Society, which I hope to finish in 2024. In 2022, I graduated with a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Materials Science in my final year. I’m super passionate about science, and love science communication and policy-making. In my spare time, I enjoy rock-climbing, reading, board games, and music.
I have been tutoring privately for around 5 years now, and I love it! I enjoy spreading my passion for science and love discussing new and interesting topics and issues in science with my students. Hi there, my name is Agbo Pethiyagoda! I am a first year medical student at Cardiff University. I’d love to meet you and become your tutor! I know how daunting the application process for “Medical School” can be and since I went through the whole process very recently, I would be able to share with you the tips and tricks that I used to my advantage during my interviews.

I was the Deputy Head Prefect of my high school, and I am a public speaker.
In addition, I am also the “Founding President” of the Social Services Club at my high school. I’ve organised many volunteering projects, and all of these experiences made me fall in love with the satisfaction I got from helping people. The field of medical research also interests me, and all these have led me to pursue a career in medicine.

I was also a member of the Badminton Team at school. So I had to make sure that I took great care in balancing my academics with my extra curricular activities. With what I’ve been able to achieve so far, I believe that I am good at time management too. These are qualities that we all must have at university, and I’d love to share any tips and experiences that I have had as a university student.

I am married and have four adult children – one of whom is disabled.

I have previously been the head of professional studies at OCR.I have taught in both the estate and private sectors in the UK. I have taught several subjects in my time as a teacher.- I started teaching mathematics and physics in a state comprehensive school after graduating from Aston University with a BSc (1st Class Hons) in Mathematics and Physics and gained qualified teacher status with a Diploma In Mathematics Teaching.

I took a distance learning course with the Open University and graduated with a BA (Hons) on computing and electronics. I then became a Head of Microelectronics at a private school and followed this as a Director of Computing and Senior Teacher at another private school.

When my disabled daughter was born it became a life changer. I retrained to become a Chartered Accountant and also graduated with an Oxford Brookes University degree in Accountancy and a London university Masters degree in Financial management. The same year I also became a Chartered Mathematician. I worked from home as an accountant and also taught Accountancy on-line for a large
London company where I was the lead tutor on taxation. .

I live in Cornwall UK and enjoy all outdoor activities.
