Hello! I’m Lin, a 3rd year medical student at the University of Glasgow. I took A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Drama, and the EPQ, of which I attained A*A*A*A*A.

In 2022, I scored 3010 in the UCAT, which put me in the top 5% of candidates and landed me medicine interviews with the University of Glasgow, Newcastle University, and the University of Sheffield, all of which I was accepted to.

I am currently the Vice-President of the AMSA medical society at the University of Glasgow, and the Year 3 representative for the University of Glasgow society of Medicine. I am also the Education Officer for Glasgow Neuro this year, and I was previously the Preclinical Academic Officer of AMSA, where I regularly organised teaching sessions for Year 1 and Year 2 students, tutoring a number of sessions myself. I also hold the position of Treasurer of the Society of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, which happens to be the specialty I am most interested in!

Medical school applications are a long and daunting journey, but I promise the reward for such hard work is being able to pursue your dreams. I hope I can provide you the support you need as an aspiring medical student, and I look forward to helping you along your journey to medical school!

My name is Lizzie (she/her) and I am currently a final-year law student at the University of Cambridge (Queens’ College). I began tutoring four years ago as an A Level student and was consistently credited by tutees for my ability both to present complex information in an accessible form and to personalise my tutoring style. I have a superb academic record, achieving ten Grade 9s at GCSE, placing me at the top of the country, as well as three A Stars at A Level in English Literature, Economics and History. My academic success comes not from pure natural ability but from my diligence and determination, traits which put me in an ideal position to support tutees of all abilities with an approach based on harnessing their potential.

A strong belief of mine is that everyone can achieve their goals with the right direction, which inspired me to pursue tutoring at University. Volunteering for charities to provide admissions guidance to aspiring Oxbridge students allowed me to build a rapport with key individuals involved in the Oxbridge admissions process. These experiences honed my extensive knowledge of the admissions process and motivated me to begin sharing my expertise with tutees aiming to study law at Oxbridge. My excellence as a tutor is evident in the consistent success of my tutees in securing their top University choices, through a learning plan consisting of a mixture of legal workshops, analysis of legal texts, mock interviews and personal branding sessions, each designed to enhance the student’s confidence. Furthermore, I am an expert at supporting students in their LNAT preparation, having worked as one of the authors of an online LNAT resource platform.

My friendly nature and drive to go above and beyond expectations make me an ideal choice for a student looking for a tutor to prepare them for University admission to study law. Outside of academia, I hold a graduate position as a trainee solicitor at a leading US law firm, Covington & Burling LLP, am involved in musical theatre and volunteer as a welfare representative for students in my college.

Hi! My name is Edie and I am looking forward to meeting you. I, on a personal level, understand the demands and pressures of school, and so I hope to make each tutee’s scholastic life easier by providing study support.
I am currently an undergraduate studying Psychology at Durham University, pursuing a career as an educational psychologist. Hence, I am always ready and happy to help others, especially with academics. I have prior experience helping my brother with his studies in IB and GCSE, alongside volunteering to tutor younger students (age 12-15) in Maths and Biology during my high school years. I have also lived in Asia, Europe and the UK, and hence have a broader understanding of the different cultural pressures associated with education.
In 2024, I graduated from the IB diploma programme in the top 10% of my cohort, so I am no stranger to a good work ethic and using effective study strategies to get top marks. I am also familiar with the high-pressure environment of examinations, and so am able to give advice on how to maintain a work-life balance based on experience if requested. My favourite subjects were Psychology, Biology and Literature, but I mostly miss the supportive educational environment — fostered by my peers and teachers — that enabled me to thrive in my adolescent years. I now strive to create the same warm and informative environment with my future tutees, where questions are not just welcomed but encouraged.

Hi, my name is Ips. I’m an undergraduate Biomedical Science student from the UK.

I am creative, adaptable, and forward-thinking, with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to develop and manage relationships.

I am an ambitious, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual looking to develop my academic skills in the professional world of healthcare and science. I am also a keen learner in all fields and aspects. Further to add, I am adept at public speaking and am receptive to change, and willing to learn and take on board exciting challenges.

I like writing and have written several unpublished short books and articles. Aside from my love of traveling, I also enjoy playing sports and reading. If I’m missing, then it’s best to look for me in the kitchen whipping together a tasty meal or punching the bag at my gym for the extra pump of endorphins and dopamine.

I’m often found dawdling in the world of academic creativity. As a nerd who doesn’t always ace her exams, I’m always there for a good conversation with a strong espresso at hand 🙂

I am a medical student currently studying at Cardiff University. At university, I am a MedSoc member alongside being part of WAAMS, a scheme that helps state-educated pupils in Wales get into medicine. Applying for medicine was a daunting and often overwhelming process, but receiving the right support was the key to success. This is why I am determined to help others achieve their goals. I know people’s strengths lie in different areas, so I am open to offer support with A-level topics, interview preparation, UCAT or personal statement guidance. My principle is always to listen to the student and tailor my tutoring to their needs. Therefore, I make sure to start by mapping out a plan for our sessions in order to ensure my students get the most out of the process and are on track to success.

Study Mind has been a game-changer for my son’s drama education. His tutor, Mr. Thompson, is not only highly experienced but also very engaging and supportive. The in-person lessons have been particularly effective, as Mr. Thompson uses hands-on techniques to bring out the best in my son. The improvement in his performance and enthusiasm for drama has been remarkable. We couldn’t be happier with the service and quality of instruction from Study Mind.

Lin Teoh exemplifies a rare and invaluable skill set that blends empathy, clear communication, and effective reflection to relay ideas and teach with impact. She was incredibly patient and proactive when it came to preparing for my medical interview, ensuring that every part of the process was both strategic and supportive. Her questions and insights into the interview were dynamic and clearly up to date. Lin was able to give me the necessary background to understand the methodology behind the interview, the mindset of the examiner, and how my responses should align with expectations to show insight and proactive thinking. During our time practicing, she was able to connect the theoretical structure of the interview with practical applications of my own experiences and knowledge. Lin is a rare breed. She is compassionate, fair, and always reflective. She helped me identify and correct major errors efficiently and effectively. I’m immensely grateful for her help, perspective, credibility, and her comprehensive approach to preparation. She made a real difference in how I approached the interview and how I saw myself within it.

My sessions are very informative and helpful not only for understanding the structure of the questions on the UCAT but recognising patterns that help increase my speed and efficiency. We cover all aspects of the ucat very efficiently and I’m always able to ask questions if I have any. I feel that my sessions are very tailored to my personal strengths and weaknesses and the feedback I receive during sessions helps me understand what specific aspects of the ucat I need to target more.
