Hello! My name’s Susie, and I’m a recent graduate from the University of Oxford, having achieved a high 2:1 in English Language and Literature. I’m currently studying an MFA in Professional Acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School! I’m 21 years old, and originally from Wimbledon!
Having only graduated last year, I am all too familiar with the stresses of university applications and A-Levels. While my ultimate aim is to help my students achieve their very best potential, I believe that a too-rigorous emphasis on exams can detract from the joy of the learning process. My teaching style fosters a dialogue between tutor and student, cultivating an environment where we can enjoy stimulating conversations, active learning, and where no question is a bad one. My students not only are taught how to excel at their examinations, but this teaching stems from a desire for them to appreciate and enjoy the subjects they are studying.

I hold an Upper Second Class Honours in my Master’s degree in Pharmacy and have been working in various pharmacy settings since the age of 19. Hi, I’m Ayesha – a St Andrews University student who loves to help others in anyway possible and adores teaching others, regardless of the academic level you are at. I would argue that I am not judgemental, and I’m willing and wanting to teach and help students regardless of their academic level. I love seeing academic progression, as well as seeing pride and happiness that parents and students get after all the effort. I specialise in psychology in particular, but also sociology and religious studies – but I’m able to teach a wide array of subjects. I completed an AS Level award in English Literature and A Levels in History, Psychology and Art and Design. I then achieved a 2:1 in BSc Applied Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in 2014. In 2018, I successfully completed a PGCert from the University of Birmingham in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions, and in 2021 I qualified as a teacher of Art and Design.
I am a creative-thinking and motivated individual looking for a new challenge to broaden my horizons. I have previously worked as a psychological talking therapist, and I am also a qualified secondary teacher with extensive experience in schools; which has led me to my current role as an SEN tutor for adolescents who are refusing school attendance. My role is to provide them with the emotional support and encouragement needed to return to school, as well as helping them to learn and revise all curriculum material needed to pass their exams. I relish the opportunity to build positive relationships with others, as this is what motivates me, and I love to see meaningful changes which lead to bright futures; as a result of the work that myself and others have put in. I believe that in order to overcome any challenge, the first step is to identify the barriers to change. This requires the development of trusting relationships with students, as well as their parents and key staff members at their enrolled schools. Once these barriers are identified, we are able to collaboratively come up with a tailored plan to integrate students back into school.
