As a second-year medical student at the University of Leicester, I’ve successfully navigated the challenging journey of academic examinations and medical school applications. Hi 👋 I’m Kara, a History and Politics graduate from Brasenose college, Oxford! I am super passionate about all things History and Politics as well as International Relations, English literature and Economics. I am available to help students with a wide range of challenges, from Economics A-level to achieving full marks in an EPQ. Outside of studying, I enjoy travelling, reading fiction and all types of exercise, especially the gym and I am a firm believer in having a great work life balance. Having only graduated last year, I am all too familiar with the stresses of university applications and A-Levels. While my ultimate aim is to help my students achieve their very best potential, I believe that a too-rigorous emphasis on exams can detract from the joy of the learning process. I am an experienced tutor who aims to make learning fun and rewarding. I started tutoring while I was studying my degree and discovered that I loved it! After completing my degree, I started tutoring privately and then joined tutoring companies such as Explore Learning and Catch Up Academy.

I tutor English, math and science from KS1 up to KS3 in person and online. I also tutor 11+ (GL and CEM) and GCSE Maths where I work to prepare students for the exams. I specialise in tutoring people who have SENDs needs or require to be home schooled. I will ensure that the student’s needs are met during the sessions and I am flexible when it comes to tutoring. I can also support you with developing coping strategies, build confidence or finding different approaches when it comes to learning or taking exams.

My goal to provide a safe and encouraging learning environment where the student has accomplished their goal by the end of the session. I will also support students to build their confidence, learn from mistakes and to apply their knowledge.
