My aim is to help you reach any academic goals you have, while also helping you enjoy learning your subject along the way. GCSEs, A-levels and the Oxbridge PAT/ Interview pathway have helped me gather many tips, tricks and resources which I would like to share with you throughout our lessons, many of which I wish I knew before starting my exams.
Whether it is the whole syllabus or just some harder topics, I am here to help you achieve the best results you can. I have enjoyed teaching a range of subjects from Sport to Physics to ages of 8 to 18, and have learnt many different ways to engage students. This means I will be flexible in my teaching methods to make lessons exciting and engaging for you. I am also always up for explaining the challenging and difficult concepts which can come up in Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Engineering in fun and different ways. Hello, I am Tom, a recent graduate from the University of Cambridge with a bachelors and masters degree in Chemical Engineering. I have tutored Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics at GCSE and A level to a range of students after achieving grade 9s and A*S in these subjects, respectively. I also tutor students to help them through the application process to get an Oxbridge offer for Engineering or Natural Science as my admission route for Chemical Engineering encompassed both routes for these courses. I have taught over 160 hours the admission route for Oxbridge and my experience includes advising students on improving their personal statement, aiding students with ESAT preparation using my content and past paper resources, and conducting mock interviews. My tutoring sessions are highly engaging and interactive to ensure the student understands and progresses efficiently. I can set work for students in their free time so they can be productive outside these sessions. I am also happy to talk about my experiences during my time at the university, including college life, academic structure, and societies and sports clubs.

Unconditional offer holder at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London from Engineering (Chemical). In the previous year, I had applied for medicine, receiving offers from University College London and Kings College London but I decided to take a gap year as I did not want to become a doctor. I have experience tutoring for the following subjects at both GCSE and A Level: Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Scored grade 9/A* at GCSE/A Level in all respectively). Additionally I have experience tutoring for BMAT (6.5, 6.5, 3.5A), UCAT (3000 Band 1) and NSAA (5.7, 5.6, 8.4). I also have experience tutoring for Cambridge Engineering and Medicine interviews. Following my academic journey so far, I accepted an unconditional place to read Engineering (Chemical) from October 2024 at St John’s College Cambridge.
