Hi, I am Ellen, a Biomedical Science graduate (First Class Honours Degree) and I am currently studying Graduate Entry Medicine.

I have experience tutoring students of all ages and I aim to support you, to help you reach your goals. My students are the focus of every session and I aim to coach you to succeed.

I can provide subject tutoring as well as provide tips to help you find your unique learning style, a method that is most efficient for you. This is something as a student studying an accelerated medical course, I learnt to do quickly!

I’ve also gained offers from all medical schools I interviewed for (MMI and panel interview), and I have helped others prepare and pass their interviews as well.

One of my goals within my medical career is to maintain links with my university to continue teaching/mentoring/tutoring wherever I can, as this is a real passion of mine.

Hello, my name is Katherine Wood, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with you as your potential tutor. I am currently a medical student at the University of Buckingham, and I am completing my clinical placement at Milton Keynes University Hospital. I have a BSc degree in Biological Sciences and I have four years of experience in the tutoring field. I also have experience in preparation for MMI interviews. My teaching philosophy revolves around problem-based learning, memory techniques, and online quizzes. I believe in creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment where questions are encouraged and no topic is too challenging to tackle. Together, we’ll navigate through the material, break down complex concepts, and build a strong foundation to prepare for any future exam.

Hello, my name is Areeba Salman and I am currently completing my MSc in Bioinformatics at the University of Nottingham, having previously graduated with a BSc in Biotechnology. Alongside my academic journey, I have several years of tutoring experience, teaching Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English to students from KS1 through to A-levels, both in the classroom and online. I also have SEND teaching experience, which has taught me how to adapt my methods to meet different learning needs and support students in building confidence as well as knowledge.

My teaching style is supportive, patient, and tailored—I break down complex topics into simple steps, encourage interactive learning, and celebrate progress to keep students motivated. Many of my students have improved their grades significantly and gained places at top institutions. I am flexible with my availability and can teach during weekdays, evenings, or weekends depending on student needs. Hi! My name is Areeba, and I am a cardiovascular scientist and biomedical engineer. I work at the University of Birmingham Medical School as a Research Associate.
My career has been guided by my love for biology and trying to gain a deeper understanding of the human body. I chose to specialise in the cardiovascular system because I would like my work to highlight the vitality of its components: the vascular system lays out a diverse and intricate groundwork for healthy functioning of the body, and the cardiac muscle keeps us alive!

Outside of the lab, I enjoy reading, archery, and the piano. I try to advocate for a healthy balance between hobbies, academia, and down-time. I do my best to keep up with current advancements in research as well.

For my undergraduate degree, I chose to pursue biomedical engineering. The engineering aspect of this degree pushed me to explore practical, lab-based applications of theoretical knowledge. After working as a microbiologist for two years after graduation, I decided to return to academia, and pursue a Masters’ by Research in cardiovascular sciences. I successfully finished my masters, and loved every minute of it! I continued working at Birmingham for the next two years where I led Biomedical Sciences students through their projects. Then I moved over to Aberdeen to pursue my PhD in Biochemistry!
