Hi! I’m Alex and I’m an Archaeology and Anthropology graduate with First Class Honours from the University of Oxford. I have extensive tutoring experience, helping many students achieve their university admissions goals and excel in social science subjects. I have conducted numerous university admissions guidance sessions, interview preparation classes, and tutoring in Archaeology, Anthropology, Human Sciences, and Sociology. I’m known for my kind, passionate, and patient approach to tutoring. My experience and motivation have helped many students succeed in their academic pursuits and university applications. As a recent Oxford graduate, I have firsthand knowledge of the rigorous academic standards and admissions processes at top universities. I am a recent First-Class Graduate in Classics from the University of Oxford and recipient of the Gibbs Prize for best overall performance. My undergraduate studies were fully funded by the Oxford Reach Scholarship, given on account of merit to only 2 international students per year. As a Course 2 student, I have experience learning an ancient language from scratch and excelling in it, having scored 76% on my Latin papers and 75% on my Greek papers. I am proficient in Ancient History, both Greek and Roman and excel at archaeological subjects, having received 75% for my undergraduate thesis. I have practical experience in excavations and museum work, as well as a unique perspective through my knowledge of multiple modern languages. I am capable of teaching students for GCSE, A-Level, IB and undergraduate degrees. I also deliver tutorials for Oxbridge applications, entrance exams (CLAT) and interviews and am able to give my students detailed insights into the application and interview process. I believe in an ambitious and organised approach to learning, in my time in education I have learnt two ancient languages from scratch and am able to speak 6 modern languages.

Hello, I am Peyton, and I am currently a PhD candidate in Anthropology at Oxford. My research focuses on youth, gender, and sexuality in Japan, and I recently completed a year of fieldwork as a visiting researcher at Waseda University. I hold a MSc in Social Anthropology from Oxford, as well as a BS in Anthropology and Geography with a minor in Asian Studies from California Polytechnic State University, where I graduated with honours.

My academic and professional journey has taken me across the globe, from studying in Tokyo and London to working in Uganda, Croatia, Japan, and the U.S. This has given me not only strong expertise in research, writing, and analysis, but also a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives and cross-cultural communication. Alongside my studies, I have held teaching and mentoring roles, including as an English teaching assistant in Tokyo, a research assistant at Oxford, and a programme coordinator with the Ashinaga Foundation, supporting African scholars preparing to study in Japan.
