Patrick
About Me
I’m Patrick, an Oxford Economics and Management graduate with a First Class degree and multiple academic prizes, including the John Hicks Foundation Prize for the highest score in microeconomics across my cohort.
I combine a strong academic background with real-world experience from strategy consulting, M&A, and start-ups. My career spans Strategy& (PwC), where I worked on billion-pound commercial due diligence projects, to being the first employee and later Head of Product at a fast-growing delivery start-up. Alongside this, I’ve built and scaled my own private tutoring business, working with students from primary school through to postgraduate level across the UK, Europe, the US, and the UAE. I particularly enjoy helping students tackle challenging material, build confidence, and develop structured ways of thinking that extend far beyond exams.
My teaching style
My teaching style is clear, structured, and highly adaptive. I focus on building intuition first, then layering in exam technique and rigor. I tailor explanations to how each student thinks, breaking complex ideas into manageable steps while encouraging independent problem-solving and confidence.
My past experience
Yes. I have several years of experience tutoring GCSE, A-Level, Oxbridge applicants, and university students. I’ve worked one-to-one and led a small team of tutors, supporting students internationally. I’ve also taught data analytics tools such as Alteryx in a professional consulting environment.
My Proudest Achievements
Graduating with a first class from Oxford, winning multiple academic prizes, scaling my own tutoring business internationally, contributing to billion-pound consulting deals, and progressing from first employee to Head of Product at a start-up.
