I hold a First-Class BSc degree in Business Information Systems from De Montfort University, and I’ve been working in both technical and leadership roles since graduating in 2018. My experience includes managing site operations and vehicle sales as a Site Manager and leading a sales team as a Senior Sales Executive. These roles have strengthened my communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills—qualities I bring into my tutoring.

Academically, I studied Biology, Psychology, and Urdu at A-Level, and I have a deep personal interest in subjects like biology and astronomy. I’ve also memorised the Qur’an in Arabic, which reflects my focus, discipline, and commitment to learning—values I aim to inspire in my students.

I am a graduate in History 2.2 Bachelors Degree, and a pass in master’s degree which was Multimedia Journalism. Since graduating I have been working in high schools for almost three years and I am very knowledgeable in a wide range of subjects across the UK curriculum. I have observed, worked alongside with many different teachers across both primary school and high school across Greater Manchester which means I have taken a lot of knowledge in how to teach, how students learn best in different subjects, why students may excel in some subjects and struggle in others. I have a good understanding as I have mentioned in History, and in the humanities as a whole, the types of topics that come up during the course of the year, and the types of “tests” teachers use to see how well students are progressing.

I am an enthusiastic, engaging and passionate teacher who loves to support young people make progress. I began my career as a teaching assistant in Manchester before training to teach. Since then, I have worked in Manchester and West Norfolk, progressing to Head of Department and Assistant Headteacher. I am taking a break from the classroom to fulfil my personal ambition of learning French, and it’s important to me that I continue my passion of working with young people while I am studying. My A Levels were in History, English Literature and English Language, and I have an AS in Government and Politics. My undergraduate degree was in History and Classical Civilisation, and I have a Master’s degree in Medieval Studies (History).

My name is Kate Valentine Crisp, and I am a writer and educator, raised in Glastonbury I am now based in London. I love teachings and sparking excitement and intrigue amongst my pupils.
Education should be joyful, uplifting, and inspiring. It’s a gateway through which students can unlock their futures, deepen their understanding of the world, and ultimately discover more about themselves. I love working with young people to help them achieve their educational goals. There’s something incredibly rewarding about witnessing that moment when a concept clicks or when a student begins to feel genuine excitement about a subject they once found daunting. My own enthusiasm for my chosen topics fills me with such joy and sharing that with my tutees is a privilege.
