Hello, I’m Vaneeza, and I’m excited to help your child excel in English, Law, History, Philosophy, or Spanish from GCSE to A-Level. I am a finalist studying Law at Cambridge and achieved 3 A*s at A-Level, so I know firsthand what it takes to succeed in these subjects. I hope to make essay-based subjects more engaging, by drawing on broader questions and honing in on what makes excellent analysis.
Coming from a state school and being the first generation at university, I understand the challenges students face when working towards their futures and how to overcome them. My track record of helping students achieve remarkable success speaks to the effectiveness of my methods. I believe that fostering the right mindset is key to academic success, so by creating a positive and encouraging environment, I help students build confidence and develop a genuine love for thinking critically and showing that passion in their essays. When I’m not studying myself, I am usually at the gym or sewing away!
I have just completed an MSt in Modern Languages (French & English) at the University of Oxford, following a BA in French & Philosophy.
I started Sixth Form with a science focus, however quickly fell in love with studying French literature which enabled me to gain a deeper cultural understanding of my French heritage.
Throughout my BA and MSt studies in French, I explored a broad range of early modern and modern French texts and how these sit within the wider cultural, historical and political context. In particular, I am familiar with the works of Molière, Racine, Hugo, Camus, Sartre, Beckett, Ionesco, Marivaux, Beaumarchais, Mérimée, Maupassant, Flaubert, Duras and Djebar, amongst others.
For my undergraduate coursework project, I was awarded the inaugural Clément Olympe Lavanne Prize in 2023 for the best performance in Francophone Literature, with a preference for French Caribbean Literature.
My postgraduate studies spanned three particular areas of research: Beckett’s Poetics of Ignorance; Law and Literature in France from 1450-1700; and Molière’s celebrity status in the 17th century French theatrical landscape.
Having studied arts, humanities and sciences up to IB, I can support with mathematics and science from KS1 to GCSE, as well as French and English Literature up to A-level / IB standard. I achieved 41/45 points for my IB (2019) with a 7 in French, 6 in Chemistry and 6 in Biology at Higher Level; following 12 GCSEs all graded A*-A / 7-9. I am a native French speaker and received extensive translation and essay writing training over the course of my undergraduate studies.
I am happy to help with any university personal statements, support MLAT and interview preparation, and offer general information about the Oxford Modern Languages and Philosophy courses as well as demystify the college system and university life more broadly.
I also love theatre, cinema, dance, music and travelling!
I am an experienced, proactive, rigorous and energetic tutor, Oxbridge graduate and creative professional with extensive experience working as a teacher, support officer, and artist. I continue my love of academia into my life and it fuels all my creative work and work with young people. I love to teach, mentor and guide young people in academic and other areas of life, and have often been described as a good role model. I started teaching on my gap year in Minorca, as a sailing instructor, and have continued my passion tutoring part time ever since, including everything from 11+, English Language, Early Years, Oxbridge Entrance and History A Level through various organisations. My effective communication skills and positive energy have seen me excel in public facing roles. As a youth support worker, child support officer and workshop facilitator, I am also used to working with groups of people and managing difficult behaviour with a professional, yet kind and warm attitude.
Outside of teaching and youth work, I also work in the domestic abuse sector, having previously worked at Women’s Aid and currently employed at Refuge on the 24hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline, hoping to contribute to the ending of violence towards women and girls. I am a keen vegetable grower and avid reader of novels. I have lots of experience working in theatre and film and I watch and consume both many times a week. For my directing work, I was awarded an OffWestEnd Award for my show ‘All the Little Lights’ in London, for best show of the Camden Fringe, and I won Best Director for my show ‘Knives and Forks’ at the Bitesize Festival in Hammersmith this year.
I love to write, play my accordion, cook and grow things too, and think cultivating hobbies and interests is essential for good learning habits!

My name is Kate Valentine Crisp, and I am a writer and educator, raised in Glastonbury I am now based in London. I love teachings and sparking excitement and intrigue amongst my pupils.
Education should be joyful, uplifting, and inspiring. It’s a gateway through which students can unlock their futures, deepen their understanding of the world, and ultimately discover more about themselves. I love working with young people to help them achieve their educational goals. There’s something incredibly rewarding about witnessing that moment when a concept clicks or when a student begins to feel genuine excitement about a subject they once found daunting. My own enthusiasm for my chosen topics fills me with such joy and sharing that with my tutees is a privilege.
More than simply providing the right tools for academic success, I want to spark a sense of curiosity and fascination in my students. My goal is to encourage them to push themselves not out of necessity, but out of genuine interest, a desire to explore, question, and grow.

Hi! My name is Edie and I am looking forward to meeting you. I, on a personal level, understand the demands and pressures of school, and so I hope to make each tutee’s scholastic life easier by providing study support.
I am currently an undergraduate studying Psychology at Durham University, pursuing a career as an educational psychologist. Hence, I am always ready and happy to help others, especially with academics. I have prior experience helping my brother with his studies in IB and GCSE, alongside volunteering to tutor younger students (age 12-15) in Maths and Biology during my high school years. I have also lived in Asia, Europe and the UK, and hence have a broader understanding of the different cultural pressures associated with education.
In 2024, I graduated from the IB diploma programme in the top 10% of my cohort, so I am no stranger to a good work ethic and using effective study strategies to get top marks. I am also familiar with the high-pressure environment of examinations, and so am able to give advice on how to maintain a work-life balance based on experience if requested. My favourite subjects were Psychology, Biology and Literature, but I mostly miss the supportive educational environment — fostered by my peers and teachers — that enabled me to thrive in my adolescent years. I now strive to create the same warm and informative environment with my future tutees, where questions are not just welcomed but encouraged.
I’m a passionate, bubbly, and energetic educator with over five years of experience inspiring young minds in both primary and secondary settings. Originally primary-trained, I transitioned into secondary teaching where I currently specialise in Religious Education. My broad classroom and tutoring experience has equipped me with the adaptability to support learners of all abilities across a wide range of subjects and key stages. I bring warmth, enthusiasm, and a deep commitment to student progress, whether I’m preparing pupils for SATs, GCSEs, or A-Level exams, or boosting their confidence in everyday learning. Known for my engaging teaching style and student-centred approach, I create safe and stimulating environments where learners feel heard, challenged, and celebrated. My holistic teaching philosophy nurtures both academic growth and personal development, empowering students to reach their full potential.
