Econometrics Tutors : 1-1 Econometrics Preparation

Hi! I grew up in Monmouth, a small town in South Wales, where I started tutoring year 9 students in Maths when I turned 16. When I left Wales to study Economics at LSE in London, I continued to tutor in Maths, Economics and Statistics – from year 9, all the way up to University level. I gained a high first from the LSE and specialised in Statistics, Econometrics, and Mathematics courses. After working in Finance for the past year, I will be starting my Masters in Artificial Intelligence at UCL in September, and am looking to find some part-time work to help me through the year. I really enjoy tutoring, as teaching and communicating constructs is something I feel comes naturally to me, and I get a lot of satisfaction from watching my students succeed.
Outside of my studies, I enjoy hockey, running, orienteering, and (a new-found passion of mine) Zumba.

Hi, I’m Alessandro! I studied PPE at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, where I graduated with a 2.1 in July 2022 and achieved the highest mark in the PPE cohort in the Econometrics finals paper. I was also awarded an Open Scholarship for academic excellence in my first year (2020). I recently completed a master’s degree in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at LSE, graduating with a Distinction and ranking 2nd in my cohort, for which I was jointly awarded the Ely Devons Prize. Prior to university, I was one of 275 out of 86,826 students worldwide to achieve a score of 45 in the International Baccalaureate (HL Maths, Latin and Ancient Greek). I have provided end-to-end support to students applying to Oxford PPE, helping them write their personal statement and prepare for the TSA and interviews, so I am keenly aware of how intimidating the process can be and how it can be simplified. 2 of my students achieved offers to study PPE at Oxford in the latest admissions cycle. I have also worked with students taking IB Maths and participated in teaching community projects for 4 years. In my spare time, I enjoy running and ran the Brighton Marathon in 2022; I am also currently learning Spanish. I am very excited to share my passion for PPE and Maths with students and help them develop their self-confidence, subject knowledge and critical thinking skills so that they can achieve their academic goals. I have over 10 years teaching experience. I teach accountancy, finance, investment, tax, maths & statistics in A level graduate and post graduate level. In addition, I teach high profile professional exam students for ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT, CTA, ATT, CISI, IMC and CFA. I also teach portfolio management, wealth management, corporate finance, financial reporting, quantitative method, econometrics, equity investment, fixed income, alternative investment, risk management, derivatives and foreign exchange. In accountancy, I teach all subjects area which includes financial accounting, financial reporting, corporate reporting, management accounting, performance management, financial management including advanced financial management, audit and assurance, personal taxation, corporate taxation, capital gain tax, value added tax and inheritance tax. Moreover, I also teach GCSE and A level maths, statistics & accounting and cover all boards syllabus.
I have completed BSc (Honours) in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University. In addition, I have passed two high profile professional exams (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ACCA Chartered Financial Analyst CFA) in accounting, finance and investment sector.

I am a patient, rigorous and highly experienced teacher, tutor, educational consultant, textbook writer, course designer and translator with over 8 years experience in the UK and EU.

I took my undergrad studies at the University of Warwick and Sciences Po Paris in PPE, followed by graduate studies in Mathematics and Philosophy at the Sorbonne and the University of Paris.

I teach Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics, History, Philosophy, English Literature and languages: French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Latin and Ancient Greek). I teach Mathematics, Economics and Philosophy to Undergraduate level.

Aside from my academic interests, I am passionate about music (especially Jazz, Gospel and Disco) and film, playing the piano, saxophone. I am also avidly interested in politics and current affairs (for better or worse).
