Architecture Tutors : 1-1 Architecture Preparation

Hello ! I am a multinational (Spanish and British) second year architecture student, currently at Cambridge University, who comes equipped with a highly interdisciplinary background and passion for learning new skills. My interests within architecture are currently enormously varied because the subject itself is so vast! , but primarily lie in museum design and curation, sustainability and bamboo construction, and theoretical discourse on phenomenology and space.

Having been panel interviewed and successful for a number of committee roles and achievements at different scales (Head Girl, university applications… as well as current internship interviews) I am well versed in interview technique and experience. I am able to provide general Oxbridge interview/ mock interviews for humanities subjects as there is a substantial overlap with what I study in my course (particularly geography, history, HSPS, archeology). I specialise in architecture, and have made multiple professional portfolios (and continuously make one every term for my degree), with an eye for detail, and so as well as mock interviews and general advice, I will happily advise in this key area.

I did five A levels, six AS levels, so have been through pretty much most academic scenarios and can provide tips for efficient revision, and efficient time management, in the similar way that worked for me.

My highly interdisciplinary architecture degree also means I am trained in professional presentation skills (persuasive presenting of work at least four times every week to a crowd), graphic skills in rendering, photography and videography, and confidence in all Adobe software. Analytical, academic essays are also a substantial part of the course and I further hone my writing skills writing university articles for the Cambridge Language Collective, Climate Journals and producing graphics for an Arts Magazine.

I received my early education in Kent, studying at Tonbridge School where I achieved 7 A*’s and 3 A’s at GCSE level. I then went on to study my A levels, I chose Pre-U art, Mathematics, Geography, and Physics where i achieved A*,A*,A*, B respectively. I applied to study Architecture at Cambridge, UCL, Sheffield, and Lancaster. I was successful in all my applications but in the end, I chose Cambridge.

During my time at university, I engaged well with my academic studies as well as extra-curricular activities. To name one, I found a passion in rowing which taught me a great deal about leadership and working as a team. During the breaks between terms, I had the chance to work in a small architectural firm in London which gave me invaluable experience. Even getting the chance to design a real project on my own.

I have now completed my undergraduate degree in Architecture at Cambridge where I achieved a 2, 1. I am now looking to join the working world for the next two years, after which I will return to my studies for a Masters in Architecture. More specifically I am intent on gathering a variety of work experience, and tutoring is an integral part of this.

I specialise as a tutor who provides support in Cambridge Architecture admissions. I can adapt my tuition to a variety of subjects and interests, which is integral to distinguishing a candidate from the competition. I am well versed in the strategies employed by Cambridge interviewers that can throw off many candidates, and understand exactly what they are looking for in a student. In addition, I can provide a plethora of support that includes Interview practice, portfolio reviews, personal statement reviews, examination tests, and much more. I have a great deal of experience providing these services and I love to encourage and inspire students to achieve their true potential and academic goals.

Hello! My name is Masha, I am a graduate of the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, where I got my BSc in Architecture, and am currently in the second year of my masters in Architecture at the University of Cambridge. In between my degrees, I worked in the architecture industry on a variety of projects, from hospitality and residential, to education. I know that architecture can be a challenging subject, requiring a lot of dedication and extra-work during university applications, with portfolios and drawings tasks to complete on top of personal statements. I am here to show students how to create excellent portfolios and projects, to achieve top results without overworking or stressing. I have three years of experience tutoring students for university applications, helping put together portfolios, write personal statements and prepare for interviews. Additionally, I have experience tutoring for applications for art scholarships, and Art & Design GSCE and A Level.

I am an architecture graduate from the University of Liverpool. I studied Mathematics, Art and Biology during my A-levels. Currently I am working with Open City, delivering architecture workshops to secondary school classes, where I support students navigate their career interests within the built environment. I am passionate for bringing together community and building a sustainable future. I can provide support and confidence with interview preparation as well as putting together architecture portfolios for universities and personal statements. Having created many portfolios during my degree I know what type of work is important to showcase. I have also taken part in portfolio and mock interview workshops, where I have gained more tips. In my free time I enjoy being creative through music and art.

I am a University of Cambridge graduate with a Master’s in Architecture & Urban Design. I have worked internationally as an educator, teaching undergraduate classes at Cambridge on portfolio development and research techniques, and also coordinating the Design Thinking curriculum at UWC ISAK Japan. In addition to teaching, I have worked in admissions at the University of Cambridge, interviewing prospective students and assessing their research proposals for both originality and academic value.

Hi! I am an achitecture graduate (2024) from the University of Cambridge. I am very keen to help out with your application and, three years in, I am very passionate about the subject. I am very familiar with the department in general and I have helped students from my sixth form with their applications. I also taught at a junior school in my year out, a very different age group but I am familiar with teaching and in my time at the school I was involved in Oxbridge tutoring as well. I can help structure your architecture portfolio for the application and give advice on the personal statement. I would be very happy to do practice interviews since it can be a daunting experience and give feedback.Also any questions you have about the degree and figuring out if Cambridge is the best fit I am the person to ask! Hi I am Joshua, and I am currently in my first year Masters of Architecture at the University of Cambridge. Having also experienced the Cambridge tutorial system for three previous years during my undergraduate degree, I know that it is essential for students to demonstrate confidence and a clear passion for Architecture. My teaching style is driven by my passion for Architecture and communicating and teaching Architectural topics and principles in a clear and enjoyable way for students. I believe that when students generate a passion for their topics, they are able to push themselves to achieve their goals and distinguish themselves from what is a competitive application process. Prior to coming to Cambridge, I achieved 3 A*/A s at A-Level in English Literature, Geography and Fine Art. Aside from Architecture, I enjoy drawing, playing University Rugby and Tennis. In addition to Architecture, I have also tutored A-Level Geography and English Literature.
