Durham University Philosophy Graduate with an offer to do Medicine.I can help two types of people. Those who are struggling in their humanities degree and those who want to study Medicine with a humanities background.

I understand how frustrating it can be to be behind your academic goals and feel like you are failing, especially when you have goals of Masters/Grad studies/Medicine/Law etc. That was me. My second year of university I was on a low 2.1 and thought the prospect of Graduate Medicine was fading away after a dismal application attempt. I have been through this and can help turn things around. I take time to carefully plan a route to a higher grade at undergraduate level and specialise in working with humanities students who want to make the jump to Medicine. The whole process is daunting and requires a bit of strategising to get you to an interview and ultimately a place.

I am an enthusiastic, engaging and passionate teacher who loves to support young people make progress. I began my career as a teaching assistant in Manchester before training to teach. Since then, I have worked in Manchester and West Norfolk, progressing to Head of Department and Assistant Headteacher. I have taught a broad range of History and Ancient History at KS3, GCSE and A Level, and also have experience teaching KS3 Geography, GCSE Religious Studies and A Level Politics. I am well-placed to support you in terms of source analysis, writing short-answers and extended writing, your understanding of topics and knowledge recall.

I am taking a break from the classroom to fulfil my personal ambition of learning French, and it’s important to me that I continue my passion of working with young people while I am studying. In addition to my years of experience in the classroom, I have current experience of what it’s like to learn and find concepts challenging!

My A Levels were in History, English Literature and English Language, and I have an AS in Government and Politics. My undergraduate degree was in History and Classical Civilisation, and I have a Master’s degree in Medieval Studies (History).

My name is Sonila and I’m a recent Classics graduate from the University of Oxford. Education has been the focal point of the majority of my life, and is something I enjoy and keep up as a graduate, ensuring I stay well-read and well informed. Throughout my time in education I have consistently attained excellent grades across both humanities and STEM subjects, specialising in French, English literature and History for my A-Level.

In the past, I have attended tutoring sessions as a student, in order to pass the 11+ and stay consistent with GCSE maths and further maths, and both occasions were extremely useful to me. Therefore, I understand the ways in which tutoring can support a student and create confidence in their abilities.

I have some experience working with younger students at summer schools, and consider myself calm and understanding, as well as warm and encouraging.
