31About Me
Hi there!
My name is Ruairi (think roar-ree). I have recently graduated from the University of Cambridge with, among other things, a first-class with distinction in my dissertation on public policy. Throughout my time at Cambridge, I have taken papers spanning development, economics, law, and policy. I am combining the knowledge and skills I gained during my undergraduate degree to become a corporate lawyer at a global, Top 20 AM Law firm.
In the meantime, I would like to tutor you! I have thoroughly enjoyed tutoring in the past and believe I can help you excel in a wide range of subjects. I would also be more than happy to help with applications and interviews, be that to universities or to law firms. More generally, I can give you advice on navigating college/sixth form, university, and the corporate world, based on my past successes (and failures!).
Outside of academia and work, I like to watch Arsenal and international rugby. I am also hoping to get back into gym and kickboxing in the new academic year, as well as jewellery-making.

My teaching style
The needs of every student are different. Therefore, I adjust my teaching style to the preferred way of learning for each tutee.
However, in the past, I have found a three stage learning process works. First, I explain the key concepts of the content. Then, I ask questions related to the concepts discussed. Finally, I ask “stretch questions” which extend beyond the content, but use the newly learned material as a foundation.
