Hi there! My name is Isabella and I am a masters student studying marine biology at the University of St. Andrews. Having always had an affinity for the ocean, I began working towards my goal of being a marine biologist from an early age. I now specialise in the study of deep-sea corals and their possible future application in pharmaceutical drugs. Having worked in an academic environment as a research assistant I know that my particular field is one that is always evolving, with new research being published every day, keeping the subject fresh and exciting
During my three years of tutoring and classroom teaching I have found that the enthusiasm I bring to learning leads to curiosity, which in turn leads to positive habits of pursing knowledge and challenges the mindset that studying is a chore. My goals include creating an environment in which the tutee is able to communicate their problem areas with ease and also encouraging self-learning by giving students opportunities to work through problems themselves once familiar with the subject matter.
Hi there, my name is Agbo Pethiyagoda! I am a first year medical student at Cardiff University. I’d love to meet you and become your tutor! I know how daunting the application process for “Medical School” can be and since I went through the whole process very recently, I would be able to share with you the tips and tricks that I used to my advantage during my interviews.
I was the Deputy Head Prefect of my high school, and I am a public speaker.
In addition, I am also the “Founding President” of the Social Services Club at my high school. I’ve organised many volunteering projects, and all of these experiences made me fall in love with the satisfaction I got from helping people. The field of medical research also interests me, and all these have led me to pursue a career in medicine.
I was also a member of the Badminton Team at school. So I had to make sure that I took great care in balancing my academics with my extra curricular activities. With what I’ve been able to achieve so far, I believe that I am good at time management too. These are qualities that we all must have at university, and I’d love to share any tips and experiences that I have had as a university student.
Hi, my name is Anindita (or Ani) and I recently graduated from Cambridge, where I studied Natural Sciences.
I studied a really broad range of subjects in my first year at Cambridge – Maths, Physics, Cell Biology, and Evolution & Behaviour. Though I applied to Cambridge as a physical natural scientist, I actually ended up specialising in Zoology in my final year, and am now about to start a MSc in Ecology and Data Science from UCL. I aspire to become a conservation scientist!
I really loved my time at university, and was active in several different societies, especially my college’s boat club. I am happy to help with personal statements for Oxbridge, as well as with NSAA and interview prep for Cambridge.
I went to school in India, and therefore did an A-level equivalent syllabus. However, I am also happy to tutor science at the GCSE level, and A-level Biology, Physics, and Maths 🙂

Hi everyone,
I’m Otis, a Zoology graduate and a soon to be first year medical student at Swansea university. Deciding to pursue medicine, having to then undertake entry exams for medical school, and then preparing for interviews
can be incredibly stressful. As someone who has recently gone through this cycle, and received multiple offers, I would love to be able to use my experience to help support and encourage anyone who is starting their journey to get into medical school.
In our sessions I want every student to know, no question is too silly, or too small to ask, and I want you to feel comfortable asking as many questions as you need. I’m very friendly and calm, and I want you to feel as relaxed as possible in order for you to do your best. I also have multiple resources that I can use to help cater to multiple different learning styles, as I want each session to be as beneficial to you as possible. The topics we cover will be guided by you, and also things I think you could improve on, with homework being used to solidify our work outside of our sessions. This will hopefully put you in the best position to do as well as you possibly can.
I have taught Biology for 20 years in the UK, Bangkok, at Harrow International School, Singapore, at the Canadian International School, and have just finished teaching Animal Mangement Level 3 BTEC in Further Education. I have lived and worked all over the World and have a broad range of experience on which to draw from. I am passionate about the natural world and come from a long line of Biologists.
My first degree was in Marine Biology and then came a PGCE followed by a Masters later in life which has allowed me to enjoy working with animals whenever the opportunity has arisen.
I have tagged sharks in the gulf of Mexico, tagged Sawfish in the Everglades, released snakes, owls and porcupines into National Parks, rescued Pygmy Slow Loris’s from suitcases, stepped on Cobras, and helped lamb hundreds of sheep over the years, which all make for interesting tales to be linked into my lessons.
I have taught, GCSE, IGCSE, IBMYP, IMYC, IB Diploma, AS and A2, and Common Entrance for ISEB.
I am a flexible, fun and knowledable teacher, which aproven track record of helping student to achieve.
