We streamline convenient arrangements for our students coming from abroad, with 70% of our student body belonging to this category. We provide pick-up services from Heathrow airport to the accommodation, where a representative from the Study Mind team will welcome you. We suggest this programme for individuals ranging from 14 to 25 years old, encompassing students in Year 9 or above and those entering through graduate applications.

The Young Filmmaker Experience week is non-refundable once booked, given the comprehensive planning involved, including accommodation and room reservations. Ensuring the safety of participants is our utmost priority throughout the Young Filmmaker Experience week. Your child will be accompanied by the Study Mind Safeguarding team for all required travel, including a 30-minute train journey to and from the accommodation to the hospitals/hospice. This arrangement is in place to guarantee continuous support and assistance throughout the entire journey.

Your accommodation will be provided at UCL Accommodation in individual rooms, and it includes both breakfast and dinner. The duration of your stay will commence from Sunday night, the day before the course begins, and conclude on the final day of the course (Friday), totaling six nights. The premises are equipped with 24/7 security, and our Study Mind staff, trained in first aid and safeguarding, will be present to offer assistance. Additionally, arrangements for airport pick-up can be organised for your convenience.

Participants in the Young Filmmaker Experience in the UK will need to obtain a Standard Visitor visa, accessible through https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor.

Parents/guardians are responsible for submitting the £100 visa application via the UK Gov website. Throughout the application process, you can designate our course and Study Mind as the guardians of under-18s, providing the necessary course information and booking confirmation.

To avoid complications, we recommend booking flights before applying for the visa, as proof of a return flight is required (the course end date might suffice, but this could result in rejection).
