We ensure convenient arrangements for our international students who reside overseas, as 70% of our student body falls into this category. We facilitate pick-up services from Heathrow Airport to the accommodation, where a member of the Study Mind team will greet you. Additionally, if necessary, we will also arrange transportation back to your departure terminal for a smooth and stress-free journey.

We recommend this course to anyone aged 14-25, including students in Year 9 or above as well as graduate entry applicants.

The work experience week is non-refundable once booked, as we need to plan for all logistics including accommodation and room bookings. If you are unsure whether you can attend but don't want to lose your spot, you can pay a non-refundable deposit of £500 to secure your place. The remaining payment will be due before the start of the course.

Safety is paramount during our Work Experience week. Your child will always be accompanied by the Study Mind Safeguarding team for any travel needed. There will be a 30-minute train journey to and from the accommodation to the hospitals/hospice, but this will be fully supervised to ensure their safety at all times.

You will be staying at UCL Accommodation in single rooms where breakfast and dinner will be provided. Your stay will begin on Sunday night (the day before the course) and include the last day of the course (Friday), totaling 5 nights. There is 24/7 security, and Study Mind staff who are first aid and safeguarding trained will be on site to assist. We can also arrange airport pick-up for you.

Students coming to the UK for the Work Experience will need a Standard Visitor visa- https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor

The Standard Visitor visa can only be applied for by parents/guardians and costs £100. They must apply through the UK Gov website only, You can name our course and Study Mind as the guardians of under 18s, and provide then the course information and booking confirmation when applying for the visa.

We recommend booking flights first before applying for the visa, as the visa needs proof of a return flight (the course end date might be enough, but might result in rejection).

Throughout the entire duration, your child will receive dedicated support from our Study Mind staff, all of whom have undergone DBS enhanced checks and received comprehensive training in first aid and safeguarding. We ensure there will always be a female staff member available both on-site and within our accommodation premises. Students will have access to a 24-hour emergency contact number, which they can use at any time. This number can also be shared with parents and guardians if necessary.

The summer school programme spans across five days, starting each day at 9 am and finishing around 3:30 pm. A detailed timetable with specific timings will be provided in advance. If you opt to stay at UCL Halls, we have planned exciting evening activities for you, such as movie nights, bowling, and other engaging options to enhance your experience.

We understand the challenges posed by the current economic situation regarding upfront payments. To offer flexibility, we provide interest-free installment plans spanning 3, 6, and 12 months. Please note, however, that a non-refundable deposit of £500 is required to secure your spot.
