About Me
I am a current undergraduate medical student with a strong academic background and extensive experience in medical school applications, personal statements, and interview preparation. I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a final score of 38/45, taking Higher Level Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics AA, and later received multiple medical school offers, including from Trinity College Dublin, RCSI, University College Dublin, University College Cork, University of Galway, and UCLan (UK). Having navigated both the Irish and UK-style medical admissions processes, I understand first-hand how competitive and overwhelming this journey can be.
Alongside my medical studies, I have been deeply involved in academic writing, research, and mentoring. I am an author and peer reviewer for the Trinity Student Medical Journal, where I critically evaluate research papers and provide structured feedback on clarity, argumentation, and scientific communication. I have also gained significant clinical and research experience through internships at university hospitals and research institutes, strengthening my ability to reflect meaningfully on clinical exposure, which is a key skill required for strong medical personal statements and interviews.
As a tutor, I focus on helping students translate their experiences into clear, reflective, and authentic applications. I place particular emphasis on personal statement structure, motivation for medicine, ethical reasoning, and confident interview communication. My goal is not only to help students gain offers, but to build their confidence and clarity throughout the admissions process.
My teaching style
My teaching style is student-centred, structured, and highly practical. I start by understanding each student’s background, strengths, and areas of uncertainty, then tailor sessions to their specific goals. I focus on breaking complex ideas into clear, manageable steps and encouraging students to explain their thinking out loud, which helps build confidence and clarity. For personal statements and interviews, I emphasise reflection over memorisation, helping students communicate their motivations authentically rather than using rehearsed answers. I aim to create a supportive and low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving steadily with clear, actionable feedback.
My past experience
Yes. I have gained extensive teaching and mentoring experience through both formal and informal roles. As the editor and president of my school’s science magazine, I regularly delivered sessions on scientific and essay writing and supported students with IB internal assessments and science projects, including one-to-one guidance. I also mentored preparatory students through a structured school mentoring programme, providing academic support and helping them adapt to a demanding curriculum. In addition, my work as a peer reviewer and editor has strengthened my ability to give clear, constructive feedback on written work, which directly translates to personal statement support. These experiences have helped me develop a patient, adaptable teaching approach focused on clarity, confidence, and steady improvement.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements was being featured in a national newspaper for my journey into medicine, which highlighted my acceptance into multiple medical schools in Ireland and the UK. This recognition was especially meaningful to me because it represented far more than academic success; it reflected years of consistent effort, resilience, and commitment to a long-term goal that I had been working towards since a young age. Seeing my story shared publicly was a reminder that perseverance and genuine passion can lead to meaningful outcomes, and it motivated me further to support and guide other students on similar journeys.
