My name is Sam Taverner and I have recently graduated from the University of Exeter with a Distinction in LLM International Commercial Law, following an LLB Law with Business Degree.
Dedicated to teaching students interested in pursuing a legal career, I draw on my academic knowledge and practical legal experience to help them develop a thorough understanding of key legal concepts.
Commended for my strong research, analytical, and communication skills, I also have multiple experience working for Tier-One international law firms. This unique insight enables me to deliver clear, engaging, and career-focused advice, perfect for those wishing to stand out during the application process.
In addition, I have experience conducting both in-person and online teaching. Having worked with students at Oxford International College and Truro High School for Girls, I offer personalised tutoring sessions to better accommodate those with specific needs.
Finally, my expertise in commercial law covers highly relevant topics such as International Banking and Fintech, Digital Copyright Law, Corporate Tax, and Data Policy and Protection, all of which have become increasingly relevant in today’s society.
My teaching style
My teaching style is structured, practical, and student-centred. I focus on building a clear understanding of core legal principles before applying them to case law, problem questions, and real-world scenarios. By breaking down complex concepts into accessible steps, I help students develop confidence, critical thinking, and strong legal reasoning skills. I encourage active discussion and reflection and provide career-focused guidance to support students interested in pursuing a legal career.
