James
About Me
Hi, my name is James, I am going into my 3rd year at Bristol Medical School. I am fully aware of the challenges of getting into medical school, and I spent 100s of hours researching and practising to get into medical school. My aim as your tutor is to make this process easier for you by applying the knowledge I gained in the process of the UCAT, A levels, Interviews and Applications. I have also gained countless knowledge while at medical school, where we continue to discuss pertinent medical interview topics. I successfully got offers from Bristol, Newcastle and Sheffield, making me fully aware of how to successfully navigate the final challenging phase of a medical application. I am aware that initially, UCAT can be incredibly daunting, but I can use my experience to get you placed at a top medical school and streamline the process. I got 3030 with a Band 1 in situational judgement. I have lots of tips and tricks to offer you, with strategies that can help you and come up with a custom plan for your revision. Another challenge in the process is tactical application, I have a list of the inside pros and cons of where to apply to maximise success. I would love to help you throughout your entire medical school application process in whichever areas you feel may be helpful. Please feel free to contact me as I would love to help you on your journey
My teaching style
I have lots of experience in teaching in both practical and academic settings. I have experience in tutoring students in the past as well as teaching basic life support to first-year medical students. I have also been a sailing instructor for 6 years. Through all this experience, I have taught hundreds of people a wide range of skills. I have worked with students with a broad range of learning challenges. I am able to adapt my teaching style to your needs, but overall, I prefer to use our time to focus on areas that you have identified as challenging and work them out together to make sure you are fully prepared.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements include being placed in the top 10% at Bristol Medical School for year 2, I am proud of my academic achievement at school, achieving the highest grades in all the exams I sat, and successfully gaining 3 medical school places on my first attempt. I would love, as a tutor, to help you achieve a place at medical school by helping you in all stages of the process
