About Me

Hi, I’m Nicole, a second-year Graduate Entry Medicine student at Swansea University! I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class BSc in Biomedical Science and have a strong passion for medical education and widening access to medicine.

I know firsthand how challenging the medical admissions process can be, especially when balancing entrance exams, applications, and interviews on top of school studies. That’s why I’m dedicated to helping aspiring medical students navigate this journey with confidence.

With experience in educational research focused on inequalities in education, peer-assisted learning, and content creation, I specialise in strategic medicine application support—including personal statements, interview preparation, and GAMSAT tutoring. I scored in the 70th percentile on the GAMSAT, leading to three Graduate Entry Medicine interviews and two offers (Nottingham and Swansea University). I have also sat on Swansea GEM interview panels and tutored interview preparation through the Widening Access to Medicine Society.

For those taking the Biomedical Science to Medicine route, I also tutor BSc Biomedical Science, covering content, assignments, research projects, and dissertations.
Additionally, I currently teach first-year medical students through peer-assisted learning and am happy to tutor GCSE Biology for students looking for extra support.

Outside of medicine, I’m a viola player, having reached ABRSM Grade 7/8 standard (yes, I know—viola jokes incoming!). If you’re looking for casual, informal assistance with this beautiful instrument, I’d love to help.

I also run a social media page, dedicated to sharing tips and advice on Biomedical Science and Medicine admissions, offering insights to help students succeed.

I’d love to support you on your journey, let’s make your application as strong as possible!

My teaching style

My teaching style is structured, interactive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on simplifying complex concepts, using active recall and application-based learning to build confidence and retention. My aim is to deliver concise teaching, with a strong emphasis on practice questions and recall.

This is the same for my admissions tutoring. I believe practice is the best tool for success. My teaching focuses on strategy, technique and real exam practice.

I aim for my sessions to be interactive and student-led, encouraging tutees to ask questions and take an active role in their learning. I want them to explore topics, reflect, and return with further questions and their own ideas for what they want to cover in the next session.

My past experience
