Jessica
About Me
Hi! I’m Jess, a second-year medical student at UCL with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in helping students reach their goals. I’ve always loved learning and I’m motivated by seeing other people grow in confidence and ability, especially in subjects they may have found difficult or stressful in the past.
Medicine has strengthened my discipline, problem-solving, and resilience, and it’s also pushed me to communicate clearly and reliably in high-pressure environments. Alongside my degree, I’m involved in several university societies and projects, which has developed my organisation, professionalism, and commitment. I take preparation seriously and I’m always punctual and dependable. Outside academics, I’m friendly, approachable, and patient, and I’m used to working with different personalities and age groups. If you’re looking for a tutor who is supportive, reliable, and academically driven, I’d love to work with you.
My teaching style
My teaching style is supportive, structured, and exam-focused. I work through exam-style questions to help students apply their knowledge and understand how marks are awarded, tailoring each session to the student’s level and goals. I encourage an open, relaxed environment where questions are always welcome, mistakes are part of learning, and students can build confidence alongside strong exam technique.
My past experience
I have experience teaching Year 12 students science as part of a mentorship programme, where I supported students academically while also helping them build confidence in the subject. I have also delivered ethics tutorials for aspiring medical students, covering common medical ethics topics and helping students develop clear, structured responses for interviews and discussions.
My Proudest Achievements
Some of my proudest achievements include being accepted into medical school at UCL, which reflects years of dedication and resilience. I’m also proud to be helping deliver the International Neurology and Neurosurgery Conference, contributing to a large student-led academic event alongside my studies. Academically, I’m proud of nearly achieving 100% in my Russian A-level, which reflects both discipline and a genuine love of learning. Supporting and mentoring younger students has been equally meaningful to me, as I enjoy helping others build confidence and reach their potential.
