8About Me
Hello I’m Onadi! I’m a first-year student at the University of Bristol studying Biochemistry. At A-Level I have taken Biology, Chemistry and German and am able to help anyone learning these subjects for GCSE or A-Level. I can also offer guidance on personal statement writing and essay competition entries too. I have had much experience in taking exams throughout my studies and have many tips and tricks that I am excited to share with my students, so that they can feel confident and fully prepared on the day of their exam. During my time at Sixth-Form, I also wrote many essays for competitions – both written in German, as well as on scientific topics – for which I was highly commended. I am able to support students who may be thinking of doing the same, by providing them with the tools to keep organised and boost their chances of success.
My teaching style
My teaching style gives particular emphasis to applying knowledge to past paper questions, as this is the best way of practising what you’ve learnt in an exam-style setting. Homework may include a short set of multiple-choice questions to complete, which we’ll then discuss together in our lessons. We will cover some fundamental theory of a particular topic – as suggested by the student, approach longer answer questions together and address any questions the student may have. If applying for universities or submitting a piece for an essay competition, I am able to provide feedback on any essays the student has written too. I aim to encourage as much communication with the student, so that I can tailor my teaching style to best fit them.
My past experience
I have experience with teaching in both a large class-style setting, as well as one-to-one.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements are being offered a place at the Harvard Science Research Conference 2021; having the opportunity to attend an Oxford summer school; being highly commended for a scientific Oxford essay competition and being shortlisted for a Cambridge essay competition, for my piece written in German.
