About Me

Hello! I am Obelia, a 1st-year veterinary student at the Royal Veterinary College. I have always loved teaching, no matter if it’s to my friends or students I have tutored. I am looking to tutor primary school students, I/GCSE, and A-level students.

I am hard-working, organised, friendly and articulate. I have experience tutoring GCSE students in chemistry, biology and maths and I was involved in assisting years 7-13 with their homework and tests on all subjects.

I completed IGCSE on 11 subjects and obtained 8 9s in maths, biology, chemistry, economics, English as a second language, Spanish, Chinese (Cantonese), religious studies, and 3 8s in accounting, English as a first language and further mathematics. I went on and achieved A*AA in maths, biology and chemistry at A-level.
I am therefore also confident in tutoring A-level maths, chemistry and biology and am confident I would be able to improve student’s grades.

I also offer IELTS tutoring, in which I obtained an 8.5 overall score.

I am now studying veterinary medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, the #1 vet school in the world (QS ranking). Thus, I can also provide vet school interview preparation and practice, as well as general university preparation like MMI, panel interview practices and personal statement editing.

My teaching style

I would prepare notes for my students, depending on how they learn best. Concise summary notes can be provided if students are already familiar with the topics and would just prefer a summary guide, but in-depth notes can also be provided if they would like. I would go through the topics that my students requested before the lesson so that I could answer any questions they may have, and also prepare questions to quiz them to ensure they understand the content.

My past experience

I have tutored GCSE chemistry, maths and biology for year 10 and 11 students. I also have experience in assisting Years 7-13 with their homework on most subjects: from economics and maths to Spanish and religious studies.

My Proudest Achievements

My proudest achievement would be achieving A*AA in A-levels and obtaining a veterinary offer to study vet medicine at university. I understand the pressure to meet the grade requirement and to succeed in the interview and also complete other application processes like writing a personal statement. Therefore I hope to offer tutoring services for I/GCSE and A-level, as well as to help students get into their ideal university by offering interview practices and personal statement editing.
