24About Me
Hi there! I am a sociable, passionate tutor that cares about finding the way you work best and adapting to give you the best tutoring experience possible. I am a recent graduate from Warwick University. I graduated with a first-class honours in English and Theatre Studies. I absolutely loved my degree and love how subjective it all was, there are no wrong answers it’s simply finding a way to put your opinion and argument out there in a persuasive and cohesive way, supported by evidence of course. This is what I will be able to do with my students, help them to look at the evidence from texts in different ways alongside what is expected from the syllabus. I also completed a Mathematics Alevel to A* standard, achieving 100% in my C3 and C4 papers. I absolutely relish the feeling of solving a difficult equation and also in school, I was a lot of peoples go-to for solving such equations or getting their head around difficult topics. I am very good at explaining and breaking down Maths, and my education in Nigeria till the age of 13, where Maths is very advanced, taught me some different methods than what is taught over here, so I’ll be able to share different ways of getting their heads around difficult topics. My French AS level also taught me alot and I believe I will be able to help your students improve thinking about French from English as a starting point.
My teaching style
very student is different and it would be about finding a way that worked best for them. What I would ask is before the session that the student lets me know what parts they are struggling with in particular so I can find a couple of really good examples to just help them wrap their head around it. I would also go back to the start, as often a lack of understanding can start from not really grasping the fundamentals. In terms of structuring the lessons, I would work through a students difficulty with them, go back to the basics just to make sure there are no gaps in knowledge, and then get them to do an exercise independently then look it over with them and rework it with them. I will work with them to make a revision card based on the lesson that they can use when exam time comes, as well as share numerous revision techniques I used when it came to exams.
My past experience
I have completed over 815 hours of online tutoring at 11+, 13+, GCSE, Alevel and University level. All of my students have achieved their desired grades and entry into top schools across the country. I also have completed in-person tutoring session. I offer private online one-to-one and group sessions, tailoring each session to my students.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements include getting a 1st Class Honours in my degree and achieving 10 A*s at GCSE level. My proudest tutoring achievements involve working with students who came to me really struggling with their work, attaining low grades and watching them grow to achieve the highest possible grades. I am also an actor, so my proudest achievements with my acting involve appearing on the Barbican stage in association with the BBC and working on a film with Sony.
