About Me
Hi, my name is safaa and I am a 3rd year medical student who attends Keele University. I love medicine and would love to help those who want to get into it as much as I can. I am a kind and friendly individual and would like to think I am approachable. I love to give to potential medical students so they have the best outcomes in the future. I have a friendly approach to my teaching so students to feel at ease and get the best out of the session but at the same time, I try to give honest feedback so that they can improve from what they have done and can learn from it. As a student, I feel like I know how other students would like to learn. As a medical student that went through the process of this before, I know it can feel quite daunting and hard so now that I have got where I am I would love to help students achieve their dreams.
My teaching style
My teaching style is trying to get stuff to stick so we would do a lot of active recall this would entail us going over the same concept multiple times in different ways to ensure it stick. I would explain a topic to a student and then ask them to tell me what they understood and ask them to explain it to me as if I knew nothing. I would go through past paper questions. For MMI I would like to let the student answer the question and then give them feedback before we start I would give them some general tips.
My past experience
Yes I was tutoring my sister helping her with GCSE biology. I have also briefly tutored for GCSE maths in the past. I have taken part in MMI circuits before and have been told I give good advice to prospective students from my peers who have done them before with students. I have also helped run an MMI. I have experience giving students advice on what they need to do well in interviews. I have had successful interviews at Keele and hyms for medicine, Keele and uni of Nottingham for pharmacy and keele for radiography.I have had a student get an offer for pharmacy with my help.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest moment has to be getting into medicine.
