About Me
I have always found teaching incredibly rewarding and also a great way to meet people and share ideas. Even the career path I have chosen has so much teaching, as in medicine there is always something to new be learnt and therefore taught. I loved Biology through GCSE and A levels and now at university, but also really enjoyed learning Chemistry and Maths through my GCSEs. These are not easy subjects and can be really difficult to understand and apply to questions. We can work towards breaking down those hard topics and improving exam technique so that when that difficult question comes along, you can tackle it.
I loved my time at school and tried to get involved in as much as I could. I became Headboy in Year 13and one of my favourites parts of that role was mentoring and teaching younger years, but also just getting to know them better. I played a lot of football and other sports.at school, while also learning the saxophone and cello so I understand how intense school can be and how much can be on your plate. I definitely found many parts of GCSEs difficult but I had people help me through it and now I want to give back and help you in whatever way I can.
My teaching style
Completely tailored to the students needs and wants. Every student will require help with something different so there is no point making a plan without the students input. Once we have discussed what works best for the student and what will help them achieve their goals, I will make lesson plans.
My past experience
I have tutored in primary schools for maths, english and reading. Informally helped many family friends and family members on medical applications.
My Proudest Achievements
Achieving A*AA at A levels and 10 9s at GCSE. Headboy in both primary and secondary school. Getting into medical school. Achieving grade 8 in both saxophone and cello. Achieving my black belt in karate. Raising a total of £15,000 for various charities through various events so far. Completing silver Duke of Edinburgh. Chairman of the Junior Doctor’s Club at school. Lead the school orchestra and band for 2 years. Gave a TedX talk on mental health.
