Mellony
About Me
Hi there! My name is Mellony and I’m a graduate student currently in my 2nd year of medicine at the University of Edinburgh. I did my first degree at King’s College London in Sport and Exercise Medical Sciences BSc, where I received first-class honours and a distinction on my dissertation in exercise capacity in post-thrombotic syndrome patients. Prior to starting medical school, I gained a number of pre-hospital and first-aid qualifications, which have provided a solid foundation for my clinical skills here at Edinburgh. I complete my first year of my MBChB with an 88 overall and distinctions in all of my projects and essays.
School and university have not always been easy for me, as I have ADHD and struggled academically for many years. It’s therefore been important for me to help support and guide others with what I have learned works over the years, and overcome various challenges in school and university.
My teaching style
I believe the best way to learn is to actively practice. My teaching style is, therefore, more practical and conversational; we will both be working together, rather than me telling you what to do. Learning is not a one-size-fits-all, and so we will find what works best for you and me to understand concepts.
My past experience
I have helped assist in teaching first aid and clinical skills.
My Proudest Achievements
