About Me
Based in Nottingham, I am a British citizen and native English speaker with six years of professional experience as a personal tutor and extensive experience supporting children with their learning over the past decade, including during COVID lockdown homeschooling. I am passionate about applying my teaching skills in a part-time role that allows me to support children, particularly those with special educational needs and mental health challenges, to build confidence and excel in their learning.
My teaching style
My teaching style is personalised and adaptive, focused on understanding each child’s unique learning needs, interests, and preferences. I believe in creating a safe and positive environment that encourages inquisitiveness and motivation. I tailor learning materials and lesson plans to suit individual abilities, incorporating creative activities to engage students and support those with SEND and SEMH effectively.
My Proudest Achievements
I am proud of my ability to successfully homeschool my three children through the challenges of COVID lockdowns, adapting school lesson plans and creating supplementary activities that catered to their different year groups and individual needs. Throughout my tutoring career, I have built strong rapport with students and parents, consistently identifying gaps in learning and developing strategies that have improved student confidence and academic outcomes.
