About Me
I’m Gabriel Ward a medical student at the University of Sheffield entering Phase 2b of the course.
I am from Sheffield and am 21 years old. After finishing sixth form I deferred my entry into medicine in order to work for the year.
I passed my Phase 1 exam with a score of 89.81% which is within the top 3 in the year (the pass mark was 50%). and Phase 2a with a score of 86.71% also top 3.
I take great pride in my work and enjoy helping others, especially people earlier on in their academic pathway as I feel I can help them most by highlighting common pitfalls.
In my first year of university I have regularly volunteered for OSCEs and Secondary School talks. I look forward to doing more volunteering with the medical school in the coming years.
I have also started to play field hockey for the first time and am hoping to join the 2nd Medics team when the next season starts. I look forward to picking up more sports next year and my aim is to take part in the varsity.
My teaching style
My teaching is very much student lead. I set out all the topics in a subject and allow the student to decide what they want to cover. Spatial repetition is very useful so during later sessions I recap information covered in previous sessions to check it has been remembered.
Working through examples and past paper questions in each session means not only do you learn the content but know how to apply it
My past experience
2 years of tutoring Maths and Science GCSE.

My 3010 UCAT score which I achieved independently.
