My name is Navpreet Kaur, and I am a dedicated and hardworking professional with a strong background in finance, education, and business management. I hold an MSc in International Business Management from Birmingham City University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Delhi University. Over the past two years, I have worked as a Junior Finance Executive, where I supported financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes. This role strengthened my analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Alongside my finance career, I have over four years of experience as a Personal Tuition Teacher, supporting students aged 3 to 14. I am passionate about education and take pride in adapting my teaching style to suit individual learning needs, making lessons engaging, structured, and results-focused. Currently, I work as a Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor (including SEND support), where I help maintain positive classroom environments, monitor student progress, and support both academic and behavioural development.
I am highly organised, reliable, and confident using tools such as Microsoft Office and Canva to create professional reports, presentations, and learning materials. I thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy taking on new challenges that allow me to grow personally and professionally.
My teaching style
My teaching style is student-centred, adaptive, and well-structured. I believe every learner is unique, so I tailor my approach to suit individual abilities, strengths, and areas for development. I focus on creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their thoughts.
I prioritise building strong foundational understanding before progressing to more complex topics. Complex concepts are broken down into clear, manageable steps to ensure clarity and confidence. I regularly check understanding through targeted questioning, practice exercises, and short assessments to track progress effectively.
My lessons are interactive and engaging, incorporating visual aids, real-life examples, and structured practice to maintain focus and deepen understanding. I emphasise exam techniques, time management, and clear answer structuring where relevant. Positive reinforcement, clear communication, and achievable goal-setting are central to my approach, as I aim to develop not only academic improvement but also confidence, independence, and a strong growth mindset.
My past experience
Yes, I have extensive experience in both tutoring and classroom-based support.
I worked as a Personal Tuition Teacher for four years, delivering one-to-one and small group sessions. During this time, I planned structured lessons, adapted teaching methods to suit individual learning styles, and supported students with homework, exam preparation, and subject understanding. I focused on improving confidence as well as academic performance, and regularly provided progress feedback to parents.
In addition, I currently work as a Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor, including supporting students with SEND. This role involves assisting with lesson delivery, classroom management, monitoring student progress, and providing targeted academic support. Through these experiences, I have developed strong communication skills, patience, adaptability, and the ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements is successfully completing my MSc in International Business Management from Birmingham City University while balancing professional responsibilities. This required strong time management, discipline, and resilience, and it strengthened both my analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Professionally, I am proud of progressing into a Junior Finance Executive role where I contributed to financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Being trusted to support financial decision-making and collaborate with cross-functional teams was a significant milestone in my career.
In education, I am especially proud of my four years as a Personal Tuition Teacher and my current role as a Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor. Supporting students academically and seeing their confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding. Helping learners improve their understanding, develop independence, and achieve better results is something I value deeply and consider one of my most meaningful accomplishments.
