About Me
I’m Arif. I began my academic life in an IB school, taking IB Biology, Chemistry and Maths at a higher level and followed my interest in both biology and chemistry with a BSc in Biochemistry.
I then completed my MSc in Bioinformatics, as I had a growing interest in the Human microbiome and its implications in disease and disorders. My research was focused on the role of oral microbiota in infective endocarditis through systems biology approaches. My interests lie in bioinformatics and predictive disease modelling, with a focus on the human microbiome as a potential biomarker.
I’m now pursuing a medical degree at the University of Warwick, and am eager to integrate computational systems biology-based disease modeling with practical diagnostic and clinical care.
Outside, you might spot me on Brick Lane, St. James Park, or St. Paul’s, playing chess with the local chess hustlers
My teaching style
I tailor my lessons to your unique learning style. Clear learning objectives guide our sessions, emphasizing practical application.
I aim to foster dynamic learning with engaging tests, and quizzes and encourage homework questions to ensure familiarity with exam-style challenges.
My past experience
I’ve been tutoring for the last 5 years both online and in person, beginning with tutoring IB Chemistry and Biology, transitioning to tutoring university-level Biochemistry and am currently tutoring aspiring medical students to achieve their goals.
