Harry
About Me
Hello! My name is Harry and I am a third-year law student at the University of Cambridge. This year, I am doing an exchange year abroad at the University of Poitiers to learn French law. Fortunately, this means I have much more spare time to tutor. Having achieved straight grade 9s at GCSE and straight A*s at A-Level, I have always been passionate about studying effectively. Trust me… I have made my fair share of mistakes in terms of revising and learning new content. That’s why I want to share with you all the expertise I have gained over my school and university years. From helping you revise for your GCSEs, to improving your French oral skills, to simplifying complicated legal concepts… I’d love to be your tutor. Applying for university soon? I want to help you discover your passion for law by sharing my own. We can finetune your personal statement and discuss further reading as well as practising difficult interview scenarios. I myself get taught by many of the admissions tutors so I’d be in a great place to simulate a real interview. Please reach out if you’d like any help!
My teaching style
My teaching style is simple in that it is highly adaptable depending on my student. I fully understand that every student learns differently and so my main aim would be to ascertain what kind of learner you are. Having said that, my general approach is to enable my students to build the confidence to steer the course of the sessions, allowing them to explain to me their improved understanding.
My past experience
I have over two years’ tutoring experience with a tutoring agency. On the side, I have partaken in freelance tutoring. I have also been mentoring students from diverse backgrounds in applying to Oxbridge (with all my students being successful so far!). My feedback has stated that I was highly professional and I have managed to retain all the students I was assigned.
My Proudest Achievements
Winning the One Chancery Lane Prize for getting the highest mark in Tort Law out of all 226 student (at Cambridge!). I am proud because, although I knew I was smart, I never dreamed of achieving the highest at Cambridge.
