7About Me
Hello! I’m Ishani, a second year medical student at The University of Nottingham.
I’ve had a passion for Medicine since the age of 12 and have extensive work experience in different medical environments including cardiothoracic surgery at St Bart’s Hospital, London and Psychiatry in New Jersey, USA.
Having excelled at GCSEs (nine 9s and one 8), A Levels (four A*s in Biology, Chemistry, French and EPQ) and receiving a First Degree in all formatives and summatives in Year 1 and 2 at Medical School, I have a fantastic work ethic and am really excited to share my knowledge and experiences with my students!
Alongside being motivated, conscientious and dedicated to the health sector, I have balanced my academics with extracurricular interests including competitive dance, musical theatre and badminton.
Prior to university, I took a gap year, solo travelling for 5 month in Costa Rica, Australia and Thailand. The independence, interpersonal and organisational skills I gained will certainly support my teaching style.
My teaching style
My teaching style is focussed on ensuring that my students are engaged, learning and enjoying each lesson. The combination of these 3 attributes will maximise motivation, confidence and participation.
I am particularly meticulous in my lesson planning and value using both visual aids and discussions to check understanding.

My Proudest Achievements
Notwithstanding my excellent GCSE and A Level grades, I am particularly proud of solo travelling during my gap year as a financially independent woman. The life skills I gained are invaluable.
