Hi! I’m Dasha and I tutor for university applications, A-levels, GCSEs and school applications in STEM.
I’m really passionate about science and am currently studying 2 biology modules alongside materials sciences and advanced maths as part of my Natural Sciences degree at Cambridge. Over my studies and tutoring experience I’ve tried out many revision tactics and explanations for difficult concepts, so I can help find something that works for you- whether that’s figuring out a 4-step approach to physics questions on waves or finding a way to remember a lengthy biology process with lots of terminology.
I applied to 11 schools at 11+, so I know how tricky it can be to gauge priorities and requirements when it comes to applications. I believe in finding a personal style for talking about science, especially when it comes to university and Oxbridge applications, and will help guide you towards themes you can become passionate about and sources or activities that will give you confidence presenting yourself in personal statements and interviews.
My teaching style
I believe in tackling questions you struggled with together in lessons to come up with a game-plan for similar ones in the exam, an to figure out which topics you struggle with the most and need to prioritise. For those, I can give you different approaches to understand the key concepts logically and memorise them; sometimes it is helpful to find lots of links with other topics and subjects to deepen your understand them, and to find alternative sources you can work from.
My Proudest Achievements
I am proud of knowing lots about different niches in science and developing a good approach for finding information in, understanding (sometimes with lots of maths and diagrams) and remembering about new ones. This taught me to present my knowledge succinctly for science essays and conversations, ultimately getting me a spot at Cambridge where I can continue doing science.
